Cooper resigns at Granite Bay

Ernie Cooper has stepped down as Granite Bay's head coach for the second time since 2012. Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee reported the news.

Didn't see this coming. Huge blow to that program. I wonder if he's leaving for the same reasons as before or if there was a long standing issue with administration that he just doesn't want to deal with anymore. Seems awfully strange to retire due to burnout then to come back a season later only to resign 3 months after the season concluded. Color me confused.
 
That's funny, bella, I was thinking the same thing. I remember Ed Lombardi scheduling DLS while at Clovis West then resigning before they ever played. Oddly, CW won both matchups against the Spartans.
 
HMMM seems a little odd. He was just at the CIF contact rules meeting 3 weeks ago at Davis(from what I was told) and was a speaker two weeks ago at Max Miller clinic in Sac.
