Centennial (Corona) pulled of the upset of the weekend beating favorite St.John Bosco 48-41 for the Pac 5 Championship last night. The win moves the #8 national ranked Huskies into the drivers seat in SoCal. They have earned a spot to play in the State Bowl Game Open Division vs. De La Salle #13 national ranked who defeated Pittsburg last night 35-0 to win the NCS.
This will be a great game to watch. Congratulations to both teams for earning the chance to become the California Open State Champions. Let's get a Nor Cal sweep in Carson this year!

Patrick1916: where do you get CC as nationally ranked #8 and DLS as nationally ranked #13. First of all, the new rankings have not yet come out. Secondly, coming into this weekends games CC was ranked around #22 nationally and DLS ranked #2 to #4 depending on the poll.

Suggest you brush up on your poll watching skills.

Please check out the Max Preps Freeman Rankings. Rankings and Computers can be put away for another year. Games will be decided on the field from now on. Suggest you do the same. What we all would like to see is a NorCal sweep in SBG's.

Freeman Ratings are bogus. Use USA Today it HSFB 100 polls; more accurate

The way DLS pop is crying on the national board about DLS's injuries and DLS not having a chance to beat Centennial, maybe the CIF should reconsider and send Folsom to the Open!

Besides advantages for home field, big game experience, and enrollment, CC brings more than twice as many recruits to the SBG

3* WR Greyson Bankhead (California)3* DB Jihree Steward (Oregon)3* QB Nate Ketteringham4* DB Chacho Ulloa (Pac12/ Boise offers)4* WR Javon McKinley (Pac12/ Big 10 offers)3* OL Daniel Juarez (Big 12 offer)3* RB JJ Taylor3* DB Camryn Byrum3* DB Troy Dye
DLS replaced the 6'4", 350#, #1 player in the country over the summer with a 5'11" DL named Bumpy (real name). They're using a backup WR named Alex at QB and their backup QB is now their DE. The #1 WR is named Adam and is doing double duty at LB for the Big 10 committed team captain who is out for the game. Their middle LB is named Cameron and has been starting for 3 years, but will play his last football game at SBG. One RB's surname is Hernandez!! DLS will have 4 kids with offers or ratings of any kind on the field if they can avoid injury against their best comp of the year -- the DLS JV.

BG only beat CC by 1 after overcoming a 21 point 4th quarter lead and going for 2 and the win. This CC team has knocked off Serra, Mater Dei, Bishop Amat, and SJB on the way here and get a Trinity sponsored bye week this week for veer prep and boo boo healing.

I'm afraid this one might get ugly.

Thought sammy's post about CC limping in after the Baataan Death March needed some balance

The tone is tongue in cheek, but my facts were true

CC is more battle testedCC has 2.5x more recruitsCC is 60% largerCC is effectively playing a home gameCC will be healthierCC has IMHO the #1 HC in CA DLS has plugged holes w/ Bumpy McGee (5'11" DL), Alex Vanderklugt (backup WR playing QB -- likely won't be higher than 3rd string QB next year), and Joe Vranish (a parochial school product paying full tuition off his dad's farmville IPO profits) and only has 4 kids with any offers or stars playing

That's not how a team should be judged on whose better.

A team should be judged on who would win if they played. I don't believe this team would beat those teams. 2007 CC was their best offensive team(I like the 2000 team, but that was before anyone actually got to watch CC.)

I've always said you can tell whether a team will be able to play with DLS from the 1st drive. Either CC is good enough along the LOS or they're not. The 2007 and 2008 teams were good enough, but the 2007 team kept giving up big plays through the air. The 2012 team turned the ball over 2 or 3 times unforced(Muffed Punt, QB fumbles without anyone doing anything, and I forgot the other ones).[/QUOTE]

We differ on how teams should be judged

When they're body of work is finished, it's not only fair, but most reliable, to judge them by their body of work IMHO

SoCal put ALL of their best teams in the Pac5 and CC just won it (as I predicted) despite a horrible draw vs the rose petal path SJB was given

They are the undisputed Kings of SoCal and once they get the DLS win under their belt, may have the best championship run in history under their belt

Oh, I fully understand that DLSpop always has an agenda in his posts. To boost DLS always. If DLS somehow beats Centennial to deserve the MNC. It's always obvious.

On a side note, I do hope Folsom and all of the North teams destroy the South teams, DLS included.

Jimmy you got some valid points, a lot more recruits on CC than DLS 2 main national recruits Asiasi and Tagaloa with numerous offers for both as juniors. I do want to point out that most of these 3 star recruits you have listed are skill players. Last year Bosco whole defensive front 7 was D1 recruits. That is more scary than 50 3 star wr or QB. Also missing is OL. Just pointing out the importance of physical linemen that can run makes in a game of this magnitude. Btw nice pic.

These posts were mostly what DLSpop posted on the national board. And I added the DLS boys crying and hope it doesn't end that way.

Asiasi and Tagaloa

This is after the SJB game when both were sophomores

I didn't think this thread needed any more context adjustment than glory tried to add but Jimmy's very upset with me and apparently doesn't get sarcasm -- everyone on national board except him and MTNJhn got it and played along

I'm not really upset with you DLSpop and wish DLS the best in their game with Centennial. Hopefully the North will win all of the games. If not, then the majority of the games. I was just being a little sarcastic, wishing Folsom was in that game. But I still feel DLS has a good shot at winning. Hopefully their Qb, Sweeney will be back for that game.

Asiasi and Tagaloa are future 5 star recruits! I seen them play and they are future College stars for sure. Seeing theor defense play against an athletic Pitt offense with solid recruits also convinced me it's not the size that matters! De La is not scared of size and everyone knows that. This defense and offense looked like they where on a mission for sure to redeem that loss from SB last year. Their coaching is all that matters no matter what talent is put against them.

Cal Preps prediction is now DLS over Centennial 40-31. De La Salle has an opportunity to bring the Open Championship back to NorCal. The Spartan defense can slow down Centennial enough to to win as long as the veer rolls. I see this as a closer game and higher score than predicted. De La Salle victory 49-45.

That's possible, but DLS hasn't allowed 40 since giving up 56 to Ygnacio Valley in 1976, 3 years before Lad arrived

This streak is 476 games and counting

I agree it's in jeapardy
