There many factors in why soledad will most likely go 0-10 this season. Non of these factors include the tough schedule or lack of talent. Soledad has been a team who has replaced graduation very well the past 3-5 years and has always opted to have a strong pre-league schedule.
Rome wasn’t built in a day but it can sure crumble in a short time. High school football shouldn’t receive the in depth coverage that the NFL or College levels get. A head coach is essentially a volunteer job and kids deserve a drama free experience playing with a team that they have been life long friends with. However, it is a shame when high school players who sacrifice 8 months at minimum of the best time of their life for it to be wasted at the fault of admin and ill-equipped coaches.
Appreciation of what it takes to be a high school coach will never be what it should. Time away from family and sacrifice of finances is something that no one will ever understand until you have been in those shoes. However, if one does choose to wear the hat of a high school coach they should dedicate the appropriate time to serve these kids with the effort they deserve and learn the game to the best of ones ability. High school sports create a learning experience that is applicable through out an individuals life. Sports create men and women of character when coaching is done correctly.
