Fairfield schools suffer from the plight of the community. After the housing market collapsed lower income families moved from Richmond and Oakland to cheaper housing in Fairfield. That changed the dynamics of the schools. The focus shifted to discipline and away from academics. The no child left behind act caused Fairfield to lose total control of their school and caused the entire athletic program to fall into disrepair. I don't know that Armijo has been good since the 1980's. Rodrigues has some of the worst administration in the history of education. They rehire a coach every year, that is their policy. The entire Fairfield Unified School district is a mess. That entire area got messed up from the housing collapse, including Vallejo. Look at when these schools started having major problems, it happened after the housing collapse.
Vanden is a different story, they are Travis Unified, one of the better school districts in Northern California. Play Vanden has a huge advantage being the Air Base School. Vanden has a longer and richer tradition in all sports. Football has a purpose at that school.
