This one is worth its own thread. Folsom lays out MD 87-46 which has to be one of the worse losses in monarch history. This isn't the MD teams I grew up with but they are still a very good program. Chase Rollins was fantastic and UCD looks to have gotten a real gamer. Folsom improves to 11-1 with only loss to state top 10 Redondo Union. Folsom goes at least 9 deep without a lot of fall off. I would be surprised if they lose in the SFL.

My early SFL predictions...
1. Folsom
2. Rocklin
3. Jesuit
4. Oak Ridge
5. Whitney
6. DO
7. Davis
8. Granite Bay

Yeah not the same team's I grew up with but that was a royal beat down. And correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Jserra beat Riordan.

Yes. So there are about 2-3 teams in SoCal that Riordan has no real shot at beating in Open Finals, if they get there.

Folsom, Salesian, Clovis North, St Joseph’s…all going to push Riordan

MD taking a 40 water on the chin...Folsom Dam fast break...
Folsom defense was incredible. It was 25-7 I think after 1. Game was over. One thing I love about Wall's team is they get after you.
Any HS team with a few college players and a bunch of very good ones who play D can compete. Clovis North is a great example as well. Riordan will win the IG hype but when the ball goes up in the air they better be ready to play.

Haven't seen Folsom yet, but Riordan and Salesian play the best defense in NorCal, DeLaSalle right behind them. JSerra scored 91 against an undefeated Carlsbad team with their new MD transfer who scored 29points. Riordan's D kept them in the game and held JSerra to 52. I heard Riordan really struggled from outside, yet the game wasn't decided until the last play. Riordan's 4-0 against Clovis North the last 2 1/2 years.
Btw - don't sleep on Lincoln-Stockton in the SJS, they really impressed this weekend.

No sleep on Lincoln. Outstanding program year in and out.
Folsom barely got by them earlier in the year. Don't disagree with anything else you said. Did you see the SJB and Roosvelt game? Defense wins champ. Throw out all the high scoring games. When 2 great HS teams meet the scores are often in low 50's at best.

Folsom and Sheldon in recent years typically schedule preseason games against challengers that can ball...lite on cupcake competition just to wrack up Ws

LL, let us be accurate.
Folsom will not defeat Modesto Christian. Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We have played with the team of Talent now enriched with the available transfers on the roster. Knock Knock. who is it. MC...MC who......Modesto Christian on Sisk Road in Modesto.

Most dominant hoop team in SJS for decades...banners to prove it

MC- Oh I wasn't saying they were. I was talking about in the Sac area and SFL (League) I think they are the clear #1 now. But..... I wouldn't sleep on them either if I was MC. You guys aren't as good as the past and they are better than they've been.

Who are the transfers that just became eligible?

Seems like a strange post to me.

That is a bit like declaring that you have seen about half the women that go to your college and then immediately declaring that your current girlfriend is the best looking woman in the entire college and your ex girlfriend is a close second.

I think someone would need to see Folsom and at least a few other top teams before declaring who is the best in all of Nor Cal. Personally, I have no idea.

But you won’t win league either . Goes thru Lincoln

I’ve seen everyone . Top 4 in no particular order Riordan , Lincoln, Salesian , De La salle. Everyone else on any given day

I am not Legend but my top 5 heading into league is:

1. Folsom
2. Destiny
3. Inderkum
4. Rocklin (just got two starters eligible)
5. Sheldon or MT
Mt is much better than Sheldon. Inderkum played Sheldon Saturday. Sheldon had 10pts in the first half. 4 came from freethrows. They are good, don't know what happen that game.
Sheldon and Rocklin went into double OT. Sheldon won.

I think Oakland Tech belongs in that top 5….though they will have a problem with the height that some of those teams bring to the table

St. Joseph's-Santa Maria? WIll they be placed in SoCal? Didn't they play Clovis North last year for the Central Section title? I'm confused.

Sheldon laid an egg but did have rampant flu on the team and 6 players stayed home in sac and didn’t go to Torrey.

Agree with above. I was wondering what was going on with Rocklin. Jesuit is probably the next of the best after that 5.

I like Folsom over Lincoln. Also like Folsom and Lincoln over MC this year. Mc will be good down the stretch, but coach leaving MC for juco is starting to show a bit IMO.

So Lincoln already beat San Ramon . They have a common opponent in St Ig with SRV winning by 7 and Lincoln 11. I’ve seen both and will stick with Lincoln
Lincoln did beat SRV. But it was nip and tuck the whole way, and it took an Anthony Moore buzzer beater 3 from the corner leaning out of bounds with a hand in his face to do it. Clutch shot, no way around it. But if they were to play again SRV would be right there with them again. Great game!
