Coolio....how does going for it on 4th down translate to having a big ego. Your a freakin idiot. Your disdain for Coach Murphy or CVC for that matter, is quite obvious in every comment you post on here. If you knew anything about Coach Murphy and the shotgun wing scheme they run, as you profess to on this site, you would know that the scheme is designed to be methodical, churning outs a few yards at a time, with the purpose of controlling the game clock. If it's 4th down, in a short yardage situation (2-3 yards), in this scheme, typically you would go for it. Throughout his coaching career at Ygnacio Valley, Clovis East, or here at CVC, he has always shown a tendency to go for it on 4th down and more then often, they successfully convert.
Were there questionable calls in this game? I'm sure there were. It's easy to identify bad calls made during the game in hindsight, especially when you and I aren't on the sideline. How do you know Folsom will not be representing D1 this year? Because they barely beat an "overhype" as you often allude to, CVC squad? Folsom, has been the most dominant program in Northern California the past 3-4 years, with exception of De La Salle. Folsom will only get better and I fully expect them to be in a position to contend for the D1 spot for Northern California at the end of the year. And what information do you have that supports your accusation that CVC purposely play down, so they don't run into good teams? Dude, you don't like Tim Murphy, I get it? You don't care for CVC as a program, I get it? But if we're discussing why CVC lost the game, point out facts that relate to the game and not reasons related to a personal bias you have against the Coach or Program!
Everywhere Coach Murphy has been, he has done a phenomenal job in building the program into a contender. When he was at Ygnacio Valley, his 1999 team, which was perhaps one of the best YV teams to ever take the field, won a CIF championship, losing only to De La Salle, which in my opinion, was the best team they have ever had. While at Clovis East, they won sections titles, changing the landscape of football that had been dominated by Clovis West up to that point. Now in his short time at CVC, they have played in 2 Northern California Regional Championship games, losing in the state championship last year. He is a great coach and has done a phenomenal job in building CVC into a contender every year since his arrival. His resume speaks for itself. Give credit where credit is due.
