Keep doing what your doing and let me know how it works out for you.
What exactly am I doing? I don't coach for Folsom. I have no affiliation whatsoever. But I can clearly see that what they're doing is working quite well for them. They've developed into a State power and are becoming relevant at a National level. Not sure what your deal is suggesting they change their philosophy simply because they happen to be 0-3 against a program 98% of CA hasn't been able to beat for the past 27 years either, but whatever.
I mean, should DLS drastically alter their proven philosophy of 40 years because they are suddenly having trouble beating MD, SJB and a few other Nationally elite programs? Not at all. Same applies to Folsom.
FWIW, you are not the only one on this board with 30 years experience around the game, including coaching. Continuously dropping your resume isn't somehow proving you right.
This is especially comical to me because Mike Alberghini of Grant Union has been coaching longer than most and he's been criticized ad nauseam the past 6-7 years for not doing a better job adapting and modernizing to the times -- especially given the athletes he's had. What you're suggesting Folsom change to is more or less what he continued to do all the way up to until this season. But he also had a different breed of lineman and backs to make that system work for a long time.
Coincidentally, when Folsom opted to change to a pass-oriented spread system, it was because the physical ground and pound approach wasn't working for them. Times change and the types of players graduating through their system has changed. But considering the QB's and WR's that keep rolling through town, they'd be mad to take the ball out of their hands. Ngata is really the 1st super star RB they've had. They're not like Grant Union in that regard.
Why? Turnovers. And that Cent10 team you talk about is a total different animal. DLS had no business on the same field as that 2014 cent10 team and yet they still won. Why? Turnovers. One interception changed that whole game. That’s a fact. The rest is just my opinion.
Everyone realizes that turnovers are the great equalizer. So what's the point? Turnovers can happen just as easily in the timing, reads and execution of the triple option as they can in a pass oriented offense. Doesn't matter what type of offense a team runs, consistent execution is always key to success.
I get that you are fond of what you're accustomed to and believe in it. More power to you for that. But there's more than one way to skin the proverbial cat.
Folsom didn't lose to DLS this season because they didn't run your type of offense. They lost due to a judgement call by a referee and a mental mistake by their WR. Neither gaffe had anything to do with their offensive style. When they lost in 2012 and 2013, it was because they didn't have a team close to the level of their opponent, especially on the lines. So you can give the ground and pound wildcat stuff a rest.
