Heritage senior RHP Tyler Franks (San Francisco State) threw five no-hit innings with a walk and five strikeouts in Heritage's 8-2 win over Rancho Cotate. He retired the first nine hitters before allowing his lone walk.
Senior shortstop Gio Diaz (St. Mary's) reached base three times highlighted by a first inning triple in scoring two runs.
Rancho Cotate got on the board in the sixth inning with four straight singles after seeing the first two batters retired. Lead-off hitter Oscar Urbina reached base twice for the Cougars.
