Folsom 2016 lineman Jonah Williams has picked up offers from Georgia and Vanderbilt. He has taken an earlier visit to Auburn.

The term "national recruit" gets thrown around a lot, but there aren't many . Williams is certainly one of them.

Man oh man. Just checked out his HUDL. On one play he literally drove a guy 15 yards. Stopped watching after that. Saw enough. Mean and nasty!

Read my post after the state title game. I said he would be the highest recruited player in Norcal next year. Probably the highest since Armstead came out of Pleasant Grove.

He's a stud, but has some catch up to most highly recruited NorCal guy next year

DLS only has two kids with an offer right now, but they're both top 100 class of 16 guys with offers from USC. Bama, etc

Don't know who else besides those 2 and Williams are national recruits next year -- I'm guessing there's a QB as there almost always is

No props for calling this one LL33. He isn't a diamond in the rough find. Dude is a 10 carat flawlessly cut diamond with the sun shining directly on it. This was my reaction after like 10 plays on his highlight tape.

Next years highlights I want to see him dominate a little more. Like after he implodes the first guy, I want to see him hunt down two or three others on each play. Get ready to play big time football. He should be negotiating terms at the LOS with the guy lined up over him. Like "If you just lay there and don't move I'll hunt somebody else down and wont chokeslam you". A few guys on his highlight shouda/woulda taken that deal.

Yeah he's crazy good. Is Joe Mixon still at OU? I forgot about that guy. Hopefully he gets it together off the field and ends up utilizing that talent.

I would say Williams and Asiasi are the 2 norcal guys that stick out to me right now. I mean in terms of 5 star prowess.

Yes, I just heard on the radio last week that OU has reinstated Mixon, and he'll be eligible to play in the fall. I hope he's learned a lesson and can just focus on getting better on the field and good grades in the classroom.

NCSF- good call. Both those DLS kids are big time. All 3 of these kids have the raw tools to be impact players at major universities. Asiasi to me will be a true fresh starter. Is he a TE or DE at next level? Or both?

He will make a bigger impact with the ball in his hands but he's maybe a better DE. Just a tremendous athlete.

I think Shaq Thompson was higher rated coming out of HS (at least by us) and I would stand by that.

Yeah, can't forget about Shaq! :)

The guys I recall with the most recruiting interest since I've been paying attention were Kevin Wilhite and Randy Fasani. Wilhite was the consensus #1 recruit in the Nation and Fasani was the #1 QB . Can't get any higher than that! Fasani was about 20 years ago, though, and Wilhite even longer!

It's going to be cool to see both Shaq and Armstead possibly drafted in the 1st round this May. 2nd round at worst, I would think. James Sample might also get drafted fairly high - 3rd or 4th round.

I still think Armstead would have been a better LT. DJ Williams and Kyle Wright (monte Vista- Danville) were recruited as high nationally as anybody. Wright was a guy that should have been a star and was horribly mismanaged with four OC's in four years at Miami.

Yeah shaq is going to be all pro too. I can't believe I forgot him. He has such a bright future ahead of him. The scouts absolutely love him. So versatile and explosive.

Thompson is going to be a force in the NFL with his versatility. The NFL likes specialists but I can see an open minded coach making an exception for him. Sorta reminds be of ex Cowboys Darren Woodson and Roy Williams where they could play in the d backfield and line up in the box and hold it down.

Something I'm really starting to notice about top recruits is that they are often far ahead of the curve in regard to physical maturity, especially for linemen. How many high school seniors can grow a full on man beard as a junior like Williams can? I'm not criticizing anyone and certainly the ability to grow a beard does not make one a great athlete in any sport. It's just an observation on my part. Forty years ago when I was in high school practically nobody was able to grow a beard. What's up? Steroids in our food?
