HMB 60 OCEANA 28 hmb moves on to 3-0 in league play

HMB moved on to a 3-0 record in league play and 12-2 overall. HMB had 3 players in double figures Walling had 10, Rupert had 12, and their 6'-0" soph Ally Longaker lead them again with yet another double double 13pts. and 12 rebs.

HMB will be put to the test tonight as they face off with the 2 time defending PAL NORTH champions Westmoor Rams. If I'm correct, Westmoor hasn't lost a league game in 2 years. So if HMB wants a shot at the PAL NORTH title, that road goes though Westmoor.

Tough week for the Cougars. After being down 19-26 to Westmoor at the half, Tomberlin having 9 of the 19. WM made some defensive adjustments but HMB answered with their own and ended the 3rd being down 31-34. With 6:30 to play it was a 2pt game 32-34 but thats as close as the Cougars would get as WM took care of their every possession working the clock and getting good looks. Cougars still had a chance with 2:57 to go with the score 37-43 WM but they couldn't buy a bucket and the Final was 49-39 with the first round match up going to WM. HMB was lead by Rupert W/ 11, soph Longaker w/ 10, Tomberlin & Walling both w/ 9pts. Sorry I don't stats for WM.

HMB 51 EC 56. Tough loss last night for the Cougars, after being up 13-11 at the end of the first. A late 2nd quarter run by EC made it 22-21 HMB at half. HMB came out after the break with a bit more tempo and opened it up to end the 3rd with a 39-29 lead. That's when #32 Orosa and EC caught fire on their way to a 27point fourth quarter with Orosa leading the way w/ 10. With 2:57 to play EC took the lead 50-49. 55 seconds to play and the score at 53-51 EC, HMB had multiple chances but couldn't pull it off. With .5 on the clock EC hits 2 FT to close it out 56-51 final. EC was lead by Orosa with a team and game high 24 followed by Shven w/10. Leading scores for HMB were Tomberlin 14, followed by 2 soph's Longaker 12 & Walling 10.
