FCUSD just froze interdistrict transfers into Folsom High due to overcrowding, shutting down a key talent pipeline. With 235 transfer students now, will this hurt Folsom football? Does this level the field for Oak Ridge, Rocklin, and Monterey Trail, or will Folsom find a way to stay dominant?

In Theory it should, but I am sure Folsom will find a way to get the players they really want into the school…. FB is too important to Folsom and I am sure is a cash cow for the School….

Agree it's too important. But....this type of move also caused the (not so slow) death of DO football.

As soon as it became clear that there were not going to be anymore 2 day FFA transfers (kids who would claim they were there for FFA and switch classes two days later) Casey found the exit quickly.

The difference is that Folsom is so unafraid of owning who they are, I don't think anything will stand in that communities way of continuing to do what's needed to keep the pipeline going.

Loomis is not what it was even 7-8 years ago. There is an influx of "different thinkers" and their way of approaching school based athletics is different than the Loomis traditionalists, many of which have aged out or moved. It's essentially becoming a bay area transplant school.

Several years ago Folsom closed off transfers. It made an immediate problem for the school. The lower programs were no longer as dominate as they had been. the following year the school was reopened......sooooo until enough people move to Folsom and the local residents cant enroll and complain it will remain the unbalanced way it is.

One difference between Folsom and Loomis is there are plenty of apartments in Folsom that families can “move into”.

A very good and relevant point. But, I also think there are wildly different perspectives about football and what each school is willing to do to win.

Folsom people that advocate for playing with local kids and shutting down the Natomas/Reno/Sac pipeline get shut down real quick. In Loomis those voices have a seat at the table. Some say they are running the table.
