Lovin I took some time off from this site because for (in my opinion) some reason most of the posts always ended up with grown men criticizing kids under pseudo names. The whole concept just really bugged me.
Just like your post above, its filled with several connotations, negative (subtlety) mostly with kids names specifically. No matter what teams you like or are affiliated with kids are kids and us as adults with any level of basketball knowledge know that every player even the great ones need work on some part of their game.
So my question to you is; What is disappointing with the Moreau group of kids?
Oscar Frayer- Committed to Cal- Local home grown kid staying at home- great story to me
Damarri Milstead- Double digit offers from a wide variety of schools
Brandon Lawrence- Committed to Fresno- De-comitted- and now being recruited by several D-1's
Terrell Brown- Late bloomer who was offered by San Jose State recently- who will only improve
Armond Simmons- Being recruited by Wright State and a few other D-2's
These kids (Moreau kids) since they have been in high school have played in 2 consecutive North Coast Section Championships (D-4 & D-3), Won a NCS Championship, a Nor-Cal Championship and lost in the schools only State Championship appearance.
They all come back again this year and after that embarrassing beating they took in the 1st round of the Open Division last year, Im sure they have a chip on their shoulders.
If you like him or not, respect his coaching strategies or not, Coach Knight has turned that once horrid program into one of the best high school programs in Nor-Cal. His teams have beaten teams coached by coach Mellis (Salesian), Ashmore (Newark), Wall (Folsom), Kennedy (Mitty), Midgley (Modesto Christian) and so on.
His kids are working their butts off in the classroom,(when many thought that they couldn't stay there academically) on the court and will be better young men because they played for him.
Lovin you and I have went back an forth over the years (especially when MC beat Salesian) about things but the negative connotations about kids is where I had to say something. All these kids and kids throughout the bay area who want to get better are working constantly to improve their games. To think contrary is crazy.
