I wonder when was the last time Liberty beat Pitt in football. It’s got to have been quite a while I would think.

Very good game! Butterfield is as good as advertised and so was Pittsburg’s defense. 17-7 at the half and Pitt had every chance in the world to win that game in the second half. Liberty’s run game was completely non existent.

I’m sure Galli against DLS in the first round of the Open is best for Cardinal Newman and the NCS if Pitt beats Antioch next week.

Once the score was 17-7, I thought Liberty might end up with an easier W. But props to PITT for hanging in. I thought Liberty would win, just thought they'd do it a bit more impressively.

Congratulations to Liberty, huge win for them.I actually thought Pitt would win this game,that maybe the moment was too big for the Lions. They proved me wrong

That ill-advised fumble inside the 5 yl looks like it cost the Pirates the game. Had they scored a TD there it wud have broken Liberty's back. You can't expect to win games when you turn the ball over 5 times against a quality opponent such as Liberty. I'm sure coach Galli will install more ball security drills in practice. In my honest opinion, Pitt is two scores better than Liberty had Turner played QB. Liberty's Butterfield is the truth.

Agree with this post. The fumble at endzone was a heartbreaker. Pitt couldve won with 2 TDs ahead at least. Pitt defense played very well shutting down Liberty in 2nd half. Now time to shake this off and play really good vs Antioch. Pitt needs a huge win here. I mean by a huge margin to impress the committee so they brush off the hairline losses to CV and Liberty and give Pitt #3 seed at Open playoffs for a chance of a rematch vs Liberty and gain the right to meet DLS at Open final should Pitt beat Liberty this time.

Some don’t realize or remember
Liberty should of been up 24-7 at half. Liberty scored called back with a penalty. If that didn’t happen and they went up 24-7 game would not of been close. Special team mistakes too.
Pitt could not throw it.
We might get a rematch if pitt can beat Antioch and beat De La Salle. Overall both teams represent great programs right now.

also 2 fumbles ( by pitt ) were missed by the officials. but turning the ball over 5 times and still lose by 3 just tells you how good that Pitt team is.

Any word from any one who was there about the Liberty parent that went on the field and trash talked Pittsburg players? Was he arrested? I was in the stands still but saw the commotion. Definitely a different Liberty crowd than I’ve seen before. It carried on outside of the stadium too. Unfortunate that occurred. There was definitely some annomosity and vengeance on the Liberty side with some parents that seemed to have little to do with the football game.
