Liberty hosts Moreau…. D1 2nd round

Arrived with only 9 minutes to game time…. But I was circling the school trying to figure out how to get in and where the gym was over 15 minutes ago.

The high-school-hoops version of “escape rooms”, I guess…. Toughest time I’ve had locating a gym in many a moon. Whew…

Anyway…. Liberty comes off a blowout win over Liberty a couple nights ago…

Moreau thrashed Castro Valley by almost 40 the same night.

The two teams have had their playoff warmups, now they should be in a real dogfight tonight.

Wild possession results in Costa getting fouled…. Makes on of 2, 50-49 Moreau to end the 3rd.

With a whole quarter to play, Moreau is in the bonus, Liberty in the double bonus.

Frenetic, out-of-control action rather than tight calls, imho.

Wild end-to-end action, like 4 trips, finally results in a Liberty FT chance for Cook-Whisington.Moreau’s Goudy-Lee fouls out in the process. Costa makes the first…. and the 2nd. STEAL!! SCORE by Liberty!! 71-69, Moreau’s Hamton at the line now…. 21 seconds. FT is good, 2nd is NOT!! Wild scramble for the ball, and Moreau manages to get just enough possession to call time…. Moreau ball, up by 3.

73-69, Liberty trying for the quick score, knocked out, but they score on the inbounds play. 73-71, 5.6 seconds left, Moreau shooting…. Morgan… MISS on the 1st! Makes the 2nd, Liberty one last desparate try to tie it…. hotly contested 3 does NOT goo!
