No. 19 Logan’s girls basketball program has been in the Top 20 since New Year’s and it started the Division I playoffs with a 66-45 win over Amador Valley.

The Colts jumped out to 14-4 lead and then put together an 18-2 run in the second quarter. The quarter started with five straight Amador Valley turnovers. In total, Logan had eight players score in the first half.

Kim Masulit led the floater brigade in finishing with 13 points. Indya Williams (No. 24 in 2018 class) logged 11 points after battling early foul trouble and Phelicity Fa’aita had 10 points.

Amador Valley got 17 points from Cal Poly bound Kirsty Brown (No. 14 in 2017 class), who had all three of the Dons’ field goals in the first quarter. Freshman Jennie Yang had nine points.

Logan was +14 on two point field goals.

The Colts will play Berkeley on Saturday afternoon in a 3-6 matchup. The Yellowjackets beat Dublin 42-31 on Tuesday.
