Good player who doesn't force the action. Can impact the game as a scorer and passer.

Is Dublin the top threat to Carondelet in the EBAL?

Call me crazy, but I think Amador Valley will be a top contender in the EBAL South division. They weren't a bad team the last 3-4 years (actually great defensively) but could never get over the hump. They return EVERYONE with a new coach and should be top 2-3 in all of EBAL.

Unfortunately Dublin is said to be dealing with an injury to one of their best players. The younger Finau sister ( who is a very promising player). She may miss a good part of the season. And I don't think Dublin's depth is what it was the last time they played Carondelet. They have enough to put together a pretty good starting lineup. We'll just have to wait and see what type of chemistry and coaching they have.

I think California( Cal high) will be a team capable of pulling off an upset or two the next two seasons.

Perhaps they may be improved. Kirsty is developing into a pretty good force inside. I will have to put Cal High as the front runner to challenge Carondelet. I think San Ramon Valley will be improved. Foothill I think graduated a few but they usually bring a good game. I think Monte Vista 's coach stepped down. Both Livermore and Granada play hard. Dublin will be a wild card depending on the coaching and developing chemistry. Dougherty Valley I don't think has had the talent they once had.

Carondelet will have to go out and beat teams. Because no one in their league is as intimidated by them, as the case was years ago.

Wanted to share some news on Kirsty Brown of Amador Valley. She has committed to Cal Poly SLO and had five other offers from D-1 schools. She started playing AAU ball with the Lafayette Lightning/Coach Art Thoms in August of 2015 and started training with Coach Marques Smith in May of this year. They helped her improve her game dramatically. She is a varsity track star in the 300 meter hurdles and is also a great student too. Congrats to Kirsty and her parents! Special thanks to Coach Thoms and Coach Marques!

awesome but perhaps one should announce when they have verbally committed or signed. I'm superstitious. Last post I read a girl tore her ACL. Until you sign you aren't safe.

That is always why I laugh at the jealous who criticize a professional athlete who leaves college early to cash in on the professional money. Ask Fitzgerald, you can always go back to get a degree. But have a serious injury and see how many line up to pay you big dollars. After all perhaps the main purpose for college is to be able to some day provide an adequate roof over your families head etc.......

Hence the reason why star players take insurance policies out on themselves.

Outside of the FInau sisters there is not much there in terms of depth. The older finau will have to do it all to overcome their deficiencies. Kinda like Milan Moses. They also lack a true big girl in the middle and another lights out guard that could take the pressure off Finau. Unfortunately there are three girls that come to mind that could have filled those rolls but elected to do other sports/activitites. Unfortunate.

Despite that Dublin will do well in the EBAL and likely make the playoffs. Rumor has it there is a stud 8th grader at Fallon that could be coming to DHS unless she opts for a hoop power like BOD. DHS will be really good next year.

What's in store for Finau is double teams and hard physical play on her. Teams will allow her cast to try to beat them.

T. Andrews is also a solid player for Dublin high. She will help keep teams worried a little more than just guarding Sila until Mel returns to also add to the punch. And if I remember correctly there are a couple others available to make up a good but small starting lineup. Hey at least Dublin got Carondelet a couple years ago. That was a big upset IMO. I'm not sure Dublin will be able to beat Carondelet in the next couple of years, but we'll have to see. As the saying goes......" that's why they play the game"

I do wish Mel a fast and full recovery.
