Not sure who this is directed at but we had Bishop O'Dowd at #3 in the preseason and the top team in the NCS. So everyone saying they would take a step back is hyperbole and more than a little funny.
This post could have been made after they beat St. Mary's-Stockton earlier this year too right? It could have been posted on Thursday morning too right? Why does it have to come after last night?
Yes, they have beaten Miramonte three straight years in NCS. It is a great accomplishment and is another example that Malik is one of the region's top coaches and O'Dowd is one of the top programs year to year.

@Streak One thats why he/she made the post after last night. It was a direct shot. I don't think they were hiding that fact.
I understand why the post was made and get the dynamic involved. It is just a pet peeve when someone waits for a result to make a statement. If they feel a coach is better, put it out there early and stand by it.

Last night’s game proves BOD is the better overall team than MM, but it didn’t look like a chess match. BOD took an early lead and pretty much coasted. MM hit a shot at the final buzzer to get it to 57-50 which appears better than 57-48, but it was not a close game. BOD clearly had the better athletes and better team.
BOD seems to be always playing their best at the end of the season! I am very impressed with Coach Malik. He does a great job with his girls. He understands the regular season preparation is all for getting ready and healthy going into post-season. They aren't afraid to take losses in pre-season. As long as they learn from it and use it as motivation for later.
so since they play st joes i would say the athletic match is equaled out more than it was with MM. So it comes to coaching... who has the upper hand? a state title winning coach or the coach who had to fill in
didnt MM just beat BOD the other day? I don’t remember anyone saying Kelly was the better coach. The series is split 1-1 and if BOD loses in the next round I’m sure they’ll meet up somewhere in NorCal D1.
I am surprised that BOD has had the season they had because I was one of the naysayers due to lack of point guard. I will still say that he’s overrated as a coach (personal opinion-he’s a motivator)) but like someone said, the last couple years they’ve had their team peaking at the right time. So what do I know! Lol
