Of the 33 nominated from California, only 4 are from Northern California; one from Redding, and three from the same team Bishop O'Dowd, Oakland. I guess NorCal is just an afterthought.
Oh wow , if that’s the case you’re right. Is it true you don't need to be nominated to be picked for the game? I don't understand them if that is the case, but it's nice recognition for those players
I agree and I even think Angel might be a bit of a stretch tbh. I'm obviously rooting for her to make it but I just don't see itOnly two players from Nor Cal have a shot at making the game in my opinion. Angel Jackson and Haley Jones. Osborne of So Cal should be a lock.
These awards are won or earned in the summer. Jackson had a great showing at USA basketball and in the EYBL. I would think she has a great chance of making it, especially considering she is the #1 post player on the west coast.I agree and I even think Angel might be a bit of a stretch tbh. I hope you are correctThese awards are won or earned in the summer. Jackson had a great showing at USA basketball and in the EYBL. I would think she has a great chance of making it, especially considering she is the #1 post player on the west coast.
and with espn obviously running the show, I would think they would want to mirror their rankings as close as possible.. so with Angel being like number 36ish(?) there's 12 players espn already thinks are better. This is all speculation of course. If they think outside of the game itself, it's very possible they take hannah jump to have her participate in the 3pt shoot out the night beforeYou could be right. It is only 24 players so one from So Cal and one from Nor Cal would make sense.
Just curious, why do you say they could care less about the rankings they post on their website?
Exactly, one man's opinion. we will find out today I think.despite what clay thinks, here is one man's take on who makes it...

in about an hour if I'm not mistaken.. fingers crossed for multiple picks from the northExactly, one man's opinion. we will find out today I think.

I thought the same thing when I saw the rosters posted, but the article I posted mentions the matchup against each other. Obviously being an ESPNW article it was written ahead of time with the information already being known. Can't be a misprint. Maybe to guard against perceived favoritism or bias?Girls East Head Coach: Sue Phillips
Why in the world would they have Sue coach the East team, with Haley on the West? Gotta be a misprint.
