MVP- Mitu (MV), same as I had at the half way point.

Coach of he Year- Jones (MV). Wins the state championship, graduate 3 stars (Rust, John & Jackson) and still co-champs of this league and was a complete underdog to San Ramon & De La Salle.

Defensive Player- Fuca (SR) & Polosky (SR). Best on ball defender & shot blocker, tough combo to beat.

6th Man- Mitu (MV) for 1st half of the season & then, Portis (DLS) & Anderson (MV) in the 2nd half.

1st Team:
Rantinho (DLS)
W. LaShells (MV)
Fuca (SR) instead of Smith (SR), Smith turned the ball over more then any high school player I've seen.
Johnson (Granada)
Chaffee (AV)
Cobb (FH)

Best home crowd:
Monte Vista & San Ramon (the MV game was one of the craziest/best I've been to).

Worst Home Crowd:
Foothill (so disappointing)

Best 6th Man:
San Ramon (Hands down)

Worst 6th Man:
California & Livermore (Comes with losing)

Best Announcer:
California, now he just needs a big crowd and it would be rockin again there.

Best Gym:
Granada

Worst Gym:
Livermore

Best Snack Bar:
San Ramon

Best Cheer:
Foothill & San Ramon

Best Dance/POM:
California

Worst: Cheer:
DLS/Still laughing at this one.

Best Parents:
Granada

Worst Parents:
San Ramon

Best Parking:
Monte Vista

Worst Parking:
DLS

Best Admin:
San Ramon

Worst Admin:
DLS, how many ushers do you really need?

Best Sound System:
DLS/Granada

Worst Sound:
Monte Vista

Team on the Upside:
DLS- Not sure I would want to play this team at all next year, they return almost everyone.

Teams on the Decline:
SR, GRA, AV- Call and get these teams on your schedule if you are D1.

Not sure I agree.. There has to be at least another player from Del La Salle or MV on the 1st Team. Both schools have dominated the league year in and year out. No way any of the other school's best player is better than De La Salle's or MV's second best player.

Storm, thank you and I too have enjoyed your posts and take on things. It's all in fun cause we love this game and in the end, it's just opinions and not facts, sometimes strong opinions but that's great too.

Scout,

Several mistakes in your list in my opinion including these:

6th Man - Mitu? He was a starter

1st Team - comments on Smith and Turnovers are way off base

Best Home Crowd/Best 6th Man- SRV barely shows up for the Tuesday games, the first playoff game vs DVHS was nowhere near capacity, closer to 60% full

Worst 6th Man-Livermore shows up well in spirit and numbers and given their lack of wins, I am impressed

Worst Gym-Foothill

Teams on the upside, add Cal and Foothill, both played predominantly juniors, not going to contend for league title, but will be much improved

Edge, I appreciate your constructive criticism and since I can't be at every game, I can only give my honest opinion based on the many games I have seen over the entire season.

6th Man- Mitu came off the bench for a majority of the season, so I would say at least halfway thru their season and scored more in those game then anyone else that came off the bench all year long.

1st Team- I like Smith's game but his out of control play at times leads to way to many turnovers for an all league player. I had him on my 1st half season awards but had to switch to Fuca because he's the team leader by example and plays at a high and fast pace but under control. So I will agree to disagree with you and it's really splitting hairs here. I think Smith will be on the 1st team but these are "MY" Season Awards.

Home Crowd- How many gyms were sold out in the first two rounds of the playoffs? The gyms I were at weren't even close and school nights are tough to sell out anyways. I think De La Salle & San Ramon game is already sold out but I would be surprised if to many others will be.

Livermore- I went to the Livermore/Granada game and the Mats out numbered them 2 or 3 to 1, that is embarrassing but winning brings crowds.

Worst Gym- There are plenty of gyms that are below average and are needing improvements or new facilities.

Team on the upside, great call on Foothill, if both Cobb & Finley return, they could compete for 2nd place.
