Heads need to roll at Dougherty. There's no excuse for being last place in the league ever at a school like Dougherty.

Or perhaps the three games they played to start the season was about as challenging as it gets. The roster is significantly altered from 22-23, and they are getting better in each game they compete in.
Maybe you should provide your response at the conclusion of the season.

Exactly. DV only lost to 17-3 SRV by 3 points. That would have been a major upset with their squad. The other 2 losses were to 17-3 DLS & 17-1 Granada, and they were within 6 late in the 4th at DLS last night.

This is Dougherty Valley Basketball we're talking about. There's no such thing as "only lost." There's winning, and there's unacceptable. If it was football we'd be having a different conversation.

Like I said before, perhaps you can revise your position on DV basketball once the season is over and they can do everything in their power to make you proud.....

This is the EBAL we’re talking about. One of the toughest, if not The Toughest, leagues in all of NorCal. The Beasley brothers have graduated, and there are no more in the pipeline. The last Sevilla brother is just a freshman, but will also be a baller.

I’m afraid they are paying their dues this year, but they are showing improvement with this young squad and they’ll be back in the EBAL mix soon. This year’s DV squad isn’t Open worthy, but don’t be surprised if they make some noise come playoff time. It is ludicrous to think that heads should be rolling.

Before a Beasley or Sevilla put on a DV jersey when was DV ever a factor in basketball?

The strength of a league is no excuse, you don't see De La Salle football going 0-3 in the EBAL then claiming it's because the league is good. If that ever happened heads would roll immediately and rightfully so. Dougherty needs to get it together immediately or changes need to be made immediately, there is absolutely no reason or excuse for them to be losing the way they are. "Youth" is no excuse this is high school, all the kids are young.

You are comparing the DV basketball program to the DLS football program? That about says it all.

DV has an outstanding coach who develops his players and gets the most out of them. Many who will not play at the next level but will have a good high school experience. For those who have coached, this is more important than wins and loses.

What is really impressive about DV is their wall of CIF pennants. Not the sports championship ones like at DLS, but the 10+ teams each year who make the CIF scholastic award team. You don’t see that at other schools.

Love the Poop Monster. Looking forward to his list of athletic and coaching accomplishments. Never had a losing season.

To paraphrase from my favorite movie The Grinch. Maybe success doesn’t come from the score, perhaps it comes from a little bit more.

i think wins mean a little more to coaches who coach at schools who expect to win... good high school experience and winning can go at the same time. i never heard a kid say, we went 0-25 but at least it was fun.

BOD is also an Open possibility. Those EBAL teams will be in for some real battles. Monte Vista is 18-3, and possibly the 5th best team in this league.

The DLS-Dublin game Friday came right down to the end. Tomorrow night we’ll have SRV & Dublin going toe to toe, DLS & Granada in a war, and there will be great games every game night the rest of the season. Buckle up!

What in the world is going on in Dublin? Never thought I’d see the day where they would be getting run out of the gym by the SRV’s of the world.

SRV beat Dublin in the NCS playoffs just last season. Dublin lost Anderson (Colorado) & Cooks (SF St.) from that squad, while SRV has almost everyone back. Most people paying attention knew this was going to be a tough matchup for the Gaels.

That’s not an excuse whatsoever. Dublin had no business losing to SRV then, and they have even less of an excuse now. These are the undisputed facts and that coach better get it together ASAP before Dublin looks for an upgrade.

Decisions, decisions - Campo @ CVC OR Dublin/DV winner vs DLS on Thursday night.......

Kiddman - I assume you'll be at Campo vs CVC game or are you checking out the Spartans?

Can't find tickets for tonight's battle for San Ramon -- SRV vs Monte Vista - probably sold out already.....
