Antioch @ Freedom Straw Poll 9/21/2018, 2:47PM
23 confidence votes, 23 score predictions

Antioch Win: 19 votes; average confidence 4.5
Freedom Win: 4 votes; average confidence 2.0

Sum average score prediction:
Antioch: 34 ~ Freedom: 28

This Game of the Week pick has the lowest confidence level of any week of NCP 2018 Pick'em. No team receiving the most votes averaged below 5.7 in the past. But Antioch, the preferred team this round, averaged 4.5. And likewise, Freedom, the less preferred team, had an average of 2.0 which is also the lowest of all GOTW games this year. The natural conclusion is that most posters were relatively unsure of who will win this game.

This GOTW also had among the largest total game points predicted of all GOTW games. Posters predicted an average of 61.78 points to be scored in this game with the top prediction being 73 points. Surprisingly, the only other GOTW game with higher predictions was the Folsom @ De La Salle GOTW game averaging 62.58 points with the highest prediction being a total of 87 points. We all know how that game turned out! It may end up being the lowest scoring GOTW this year.

@Hatchball
My Bonus pick
IMG 28 ~ MD 27
It could be a blow out game but I'm predicting a close one - a game won by either team with a two-point conversion or a field goal or possibly a fouled up play like a safety or missed PAT.

I think the travel and over-confidence by the IMG team will be their downfall. I'm also not sure how they do it in Florida but also keep in mind a lot of the Mater Dei kids are a year older than they should be for their high school class designation because of redshirting.

Ugh! Maybe the worst pick 'em yet as I got slaughtered! Only way I could have done worse is if I'd picked Mitty in an upset over Serra. I had Antioch winning comfortably in the GOW and I had LOTS of company in thinking Palma would be able to handle Salinas.

I picked the Salinas vs Palma game wrong too. I thought Salinas had a good chance to beat Palma but I figured the Palma discipline would overcome. It was only after I lost that pick that I saw I had driven the confidence level for Palma so high. There were just too many 1 confidence level games to keep it lower.

Salinas has the talent and now I think the team is starting to jell. If they can stay healthy and the coaches can "coach" ahead of the Cowboys' potential, they might do very well.
