NCS COIN FLIP BS....and no games up north

Dude its simple. Superintendent West Contra Costa wouldn't allow El Cerrito and Kennedy to go, Napa Valley would not support American Canyon going(she was previous AD at AC) and Encinal coach was "not prepared to play". Those were your dissenters.
You quoted “Kennedy” refused to go. Which is a lie Gil has confirmed that. The fact is I believe everyone wants to play, but football isn’t life or death right now. I don’t believe anyone agrees with the ncs ruling but it’s out of our hands.

There was a way to play all of the games and those four schools whether it be their coaches or administrators refused to allow them to be played

I posted on a different thread where costs to travel- let’s say Eureka/Reno- where AQ would allow play, at $4300. To some schools, that’d be their WHOLE season away game budget. This has to be a significant factor, and I am certain WCCUSD schools would scribe as major.

Again, the Raiders/49ers could’ve stepped up with $ big time. Might’ve “saved” their seasons in the court of public opinion.

Eureka raised $16k to offset travel expenses and many schools have been strong armed in the past to pay for visiting schools travel expenses

Kudos to Eureka for stepping up. That’s two games worth.

Not sure if the comment of “strong arming” is tongue in cheek but there’s little leeway at most WCCUSD schools for expenditures.

Why someone like Derek Carr couldn’t give up some of his 1.5M PER GAME to make him a benevolent, pious no less, champion is confounding.

Unless it’s the challenge of figuring out how to get to a playoff game within our section. Then we back down

Unless it’s the challenge of figuring out how to practice indoors like your basketball teams. Then we back down

Unless it’s cable....
I think your anger is pointed at the wrong people. Over 50% of the schools refused to go but yet your constantly bringing up Kennedy for what reason? It's on record that they wanted to play, the KIDS wanted to play! But yet you attack them for a situation that's out of there hands?

It’s not directed at the kids, it’s directed at the decision makers within the framework of the school, it’s with supporters like you that refuse to put pressure on your decision makers to come up with a solution instead of excuses.

You said Kennedy never backs down from a challenge. Here’s your challenge, there’s time to finish this season with an accelerated schedule. Rally your community, pressure your administrators to come to an agreement to get it done. Or do you sit on the sideline and say “We’re a #3 seed, were probably not going to the championship anyway. It’s not worth the effort.”

Ball is in your court.

You’re the only one that responded but same goes for Matt Duffy, El Cerrito, Jill Stewart, American Canyon, Dominic Dimare, San Marin, the Ison boys, Moreau Catholic, St Pats/St St Vincent

I can't believe the NCS is dead-set in making this coin flip happen

It’s called collective apathy when not enough people are willing to stand up and make something happen

NothbayFB. What’s the grind? I know a LOT about Richmond. And the first thing is it’s one of the few Districts in the State to be bailed out due to a previous Supes creative accounting. There is a challenging socio-economic environment in which extra (not many there) dollars got to core education, not after school activities.
I give major props to Kennedy to actually FIELDING a team, let alone win as they have recently.
Full disclosure KF...next door neighbors to Coach RK for 50 years.

@northbayfb, This coin-flip thing has got you wound up tight. If you feel the school you back is gonna get short changed, I suggest you take a drive up to Chico/Paradise and do a little volunteer work. It will make this whole NCS playoff look pretty silly in the big picture.

Or you could suggest I evacuate my home and my business for a month, have my children’s school burn down and lose our field and have to practice a different place at each night for the rest of the season and still have a football season and then playoffs. Oh wait. Did that last year.

The Northern Section which was actually fire ravaged this year had figured out how to continue playing. Let’s not hide behind somebody else’s tragedy.

Read the whole thread. Eureka raised money to offset costs take that, go to the football community at large, I would donate. My grind is that we are ignoring alternative solutions. It has nothing specifically with Kennedy. If you know coach then you also know that the greater football community at large is a generous group. Let’s focus on how we can, not how we can’t.

But you called out Kennedy more than once. “If I know coach...” What?

The “greater football community at large is a generous group.” Seriously, this isn’t bake sale stuff. The greatest football community, Davis and York family should’ve stepped up as it is a cash only situation due to the fire tragedies.

The process starts and ends with the NCS. The kids, parents, coaches, and communities are tragically being failed by the NCS. The CCS figured it out and the NCS has failed so far the people they are to serve.
It is almost Wednesday & there is still no plan or mention of an alternative plan for this weekend’s games if they should be smoked out again.
The coin flip is a joke with no honor. Putting it back on the teams with a coin flip is pathetic.
The NCS should either accept or adjust the coaches proposal and play things out on the field. Any other proposal should be one that has the kids finishing their season on the field with an opportunity for CIF State.
