SRV by 7 over Carondelet. Very tough battle all the way. SRV kept pulling away by 7-8 then C-let would fight back in. Bonderer for C-let was unconscious - I counted 8 made three pointers. Bayston for SRV was unstoppable going to the rim. Gerhart played all but 10 seconds of the game before fouling out with a couple minutes to go. Not her best game, but she has no bad ones - she still runs that team like a general day in and day out. Big kudos to Jamie Blackard for C-let for being so quick and relentless - ruled the 50/50 balls.

And San Leandro by 8 over American.

4 points is what I thought and had posted originally, but NCS has the final 71-64.
SRV is a fun team to watch . I made the drive out to alamo to see the game and wasn’t disappointed. I was sure American would win their game so I made the journey northeast for the SRV game. Big respect off to Carondelet and the coaches for making that a great game. SRV clearly has the better players but Carondelet has the fight and had a player that made some crazy off balance and bank shot threes from Steph Curry range. Without her though, Carondelet gets beaten by 15-20 . SRV was just to good , too well coached and conditioned to lose tonight despite the big outing from Carondelets #22. Great game, great coaches and I wish they could play again tomorrow , I would endure the traffic to see it. Good luck to SRV in the finals. Despite their destruction of our Logan girls, I like that team. Does anyone know where the championship game will be played? I can’t find anything about it on the NCS website.

I think everything will be announced tonight after all the games are done.

It would be nice if all the NCS section finals could be played at 1 location like they did at St Mary's college a few yrs back. That was fun.

I miss the championships being under 1 roof. It was a great atmosphere for the kids to play in. Great environment for aspiring players to see.

They can only play so many games there, and of course, if Cardinal Newman is a higher seed than Miramonte, say, it isn't really fair to have the game at St. Mary's.

NCS D1 girls final SRV vs SL at Dublin HS 5:30 Saturday. Boys D1 DLS vs Granada following at 7:30.

NCS D3 girls final Moreau vs San Marin also at Dublin HS Saturday at 3:30.

NCS Open finals at SMC Friday night. Girls at 6:00, boys at 8:00.

Major advantage for San Ramon, as they play at Dublin every year. Familiarity can be very important.

As for St. Mary's, studies have shown that home-court advantage is driven almost completely by fans who are preponderantly cheering for one team. St. Mary's College is an advantage in that regard for schools like Campolindo and Miramonte, but less so for St. Joseph's, which will probably not bring a huge crowd (the school is very small).

San Ramon should also have a significant edge in fan presence, which smooths their path even more.

They beat the 1 seed in a true road game. That same 1 seed beat the 2 seed in a true road game this year. Should be close. Don't think the venue will impact score to much

San Ramon only plays Dublin once each year, as they are in different divisions of the EBAL. Yes, it happens that game was played at Dublin this year as they alternate, but San Leandro also played at Dublin HS this year.

I just Googled them and San Leandro HS is 23 minutes from Dublin HS, while SRV is 19 minutes. I just don’t see the major venue advantage for SRV.

We'll see ... given the traffic and the amount of support each school traditionally gets, I'm betting the SRV fans at least double the San Leandro fans.

If someone goes, let us know. I certainly could be wrong on this, and I'm curious to know if I am.

And sure, SRV has played there once this year, but how many games have the SRV players played at Dublin since middle school? I'm guessing around five, and that makes a difference.

They are nearly the same distance, and traffic shouldn’t be much of an issue on a Saturday. And if SRV traditionally has more fan support, wouldn’t that be in effect even if the game were played closer to SL, say at Castro Valley HS? That’s really not a venue issue.

I’ll agree that some of the SRV girls have probably played at Dublin at times since middle school, but both teams played there once this year, and it’s not a funky small court like BOD, Carondelet or SMS where it might take some getting used to.

They probably have a slight advantage, but are also the higher seed. I just don’t see this as a major advantage for SRV or some injustice to SL.
