NCS Division 1 Bracket Prediction

Me thinking outside the box
1. De La Salle
2. James Logan
3. Dublin
4. Heritage
5. Freedom
6. San Leandro
7. Mt Eden
8. Antioch
9. Clayton Valley
10. Foothill
11. Deer Valley
12. Castro Valley
13. Liberty
14. Berkeley
15. Amador Valley
16. College Park/ Dougherty Valley

CP does have early wins over Foothill, CVC & Liberty, and only lost at Heritage by 3, but really fell off the cliff in the 2nd half of the season. Can't see them getting in. SRV has a better chance.

I think Srv has a chance of beating
Out amador valley based on there 7 and 6 league record and a win over amador

record Strength
1. De La Salle 23-4 12.1
2. Dublin 23-3 11.6
3.Heritage 22-3 13.3
4.James Logan 21-4 8.6
5. MT Eden 17-8 15.0
6. Freedom 18-7 15.0
7. San leandro 16-9 14.9
8. Clayton Valley19-6 7.2

13.Castro Valley 14-11 13.0
14. Berkeley 13-12 13.0
15. Doughtery Valley 12.9
16. San Ramon Valley 13.4

But that's computerized. You have to look at quality wins. Common wins. Teams that didn't get to play but beat opponents that beat other teams.

I wouldn't rule out El Cerrito getting in, strong SOS

I think the first 14 on these lists are locks, the last 2 spots are going to be very debatable

Dublin beat Heritage
Freedom lost to salesian by 40 and lose to oakland tech, but beat San leandro
MT Eden beat oakland tech , loss to salesian by 5
Clayton valley beat MT Eden, but league is very weak.
San ramon beat Amador valley and have better league record

Right, EC qualifies for the playoffs even though their overall record is just 12-15, based on their going 4-4 in league play, as does Newark at 11-14 and 8-5.

So it looks like there are 6 qualified teams vying for the last 2 spots and a chance to be giant killers. Strength of schedule favors EC & SRV, with AV & DV looming behind them.

Overall, league, record strength

EC, 12-15, 4-4, 16.0
Newark, 11-14, 8-5, 8.0
SRV, 12-14, 7-6, 13.4
AV, 13-13, 6-7, 13.1
CP, 13-13, 2-8, 10.7
DV, 13-14, 7-6, 12.9

Newark was horrible this year, losing at least seven games by 25+ points. This has to be the worst Ashmore team ever. They dont belong anywhere near consideration for this.

It will be interesting to see how the last two seeds will be determined.

I can see DV in the 15th seed. The 16th seed is a toss up.

DV had big wins over Foothill, AV and 1 out of 2 wins over SRV. SRV beat DV by 2 in the first game, but SRV lost by 10+ in the second game. Might see a third match between Dublin and DV.

SRV beat AV in their only matchup this season, but AV has a better record. EC has a losing record but had an overall tougher season.

De La Salle has no ncs division 1 losses. And James Logan has one loss which was to De La Salle at their house. Should be interesting what the committee looks at. Top 4 are set between De La Dublin Logan and heritage. 2-4 will be hard

Logan has zero chance of getting a 2 seed with that bad league they play in
the best they can hope for is a 3 or 4.

Can't help what league you are in. They loaded their pre season schedule. Had the toughest pre season schedule of anybody. Who is the 2 seed Dublin? That lost to Foothill? Hmm I recal Logan beating them at Foothill by 20. We will see how the committee looks at things. I think Heritage played a soft pre season schedule.

Let's wait for the DLS-Dublin EBAL Championship game tomorrow night before deciding which of these teams should be seeded higher. It could be DLS's first NCS D1 loss to a now full strength Dublin, or it could be an impressive Spartan sweep of a good Gael squad.
