Both division 1 games are two matches of teams from the same leagues and same sectional playoff divisions.

Two leagues have good representation in the semifinals:
CCS WCAL league has 4 teams still in action; SF #2 DI, VC #6 DI, Bellarmine #1 DII, Mitty #2 DII
NCS EBAL league has two teams still in action; DSL #1 DI. FH #4 DI

Count after first round of playoffs - hopefully I have no mistakes. I'm new to the NorCal Baseball world of teams / sections / leagues.

Sec-#Tms / #1st / Per%
CCS-9 / 6 / 67%
CS-4 / 1 / 25%
NCS-9 / 5 / 56%
NS-6 / 3 / 50%
OS-1 / 0 / 0%
SFS-1 / 0 / 0%
SJS-10 / 4 / 40%

Publics vs. Privates
It's usually not surprising to see the same private schools competing and winning league, section, and NorCal crowns in more than one sport. I think it will be interesting to see how the publics do against the privates today in D1, D2 and D3, since the publics are underdogs.

D1: #4 Foothill (public) at #1 De La Salle (private)

D2: #4 Granite Bay (public) at #1 Bellarmine Prep (private)
#6 McClatchy (public) at #2 Archbishop Mitty (private)

D3: #8 Central (public) at #4 St. Bernard's (private)

I’ll go:

Foothill
GB
Mitty
Central

Not able to catch any of the games - but did see DLS led 1-0 at the bottom of the 2nd

Their coaches used Covid as an excuse to go from D5 to D6. Is what it is.
Tomlin is a pretty straight shooter and a competitor. Surprised if your right, which is usually about 20-25%. But you could be on this.

It makes zero sense. They went 10-2 the year before that they didn’t play a game. They used that to fall back from D5 to D6. They absolutely should have played D5 and honestly they probably would have had a good shot against a Fremont Christian or a Berean Christian. But we never got a chance to see that.

they knew they could cruise through D6 and get a bid in the new CIF format. I don’t blame the coach one bit and honestly his plan works especially if they end up winning D3.

Btw Nick Duggan (Stanford commit) is fueling this charge by St. Bernard’s.

wouldn’t be shocked if he actually doesn’t make it to Stanford….he seems like the type of player the Giants or As would scoop up in the first five rounds of the draft.
