Reported by John Devine Monterey Herald that Palma's Anthony Villegas will be joining UC Davis as a preferred walk-on. No doubt if he stays healthy he will earn a ride.

I am surprised as well. He has great grades, strong as an ox, and also track speed. At 5-9 185 he also isn't small. Not sure if he's running track this season but he would be under 11 in 100M and very fast 200M time. This years team has 3 speedsters. Palma 100 M relay team would be among the top in section if all came out this year. Still should be decent. I don't think he will have trouble earning a scholarship at Davis. I've seen many very good RB that go on and he's definitely a D1 prospect. It takes more than one person to tackle him and he is fast and downhill runner. He also can shift his body and position 1-2 yards laterrally and is low to ground at full speed. Very few RB I have seen do this and he runs between tackcals really well. The good ones do. Just watch his film and he produces even against very strong teams. Surprised Paul DeRosa from Wilcox doesn't have more offers as well. Both in some ways are similar. I think Anthony is faster. He was a beast. Surprised he's not already on scholarship.
I think Palma will reload. Soph RB Just went 3-2 as a frost in CCS wrestling finals and looks like he will be a good RB coming up and how he played filling in againt Palo Alto in football playoffs. Line is going to be really good size and physical. QB will be really good with last season experience and experience at wrs. LBs May be better. Only questionmark will be need to reload at DBs with one starter back and off course RB but soph and who they bring back will be decent. I think they will be more smash mouth type team but will be able to pass ball better than last season. They will compete again for PCAL Gab title. Not as fast at skill positions but decent speed. SHC should be a good game.I’m curious to see how Palma Vs SHC game will turn out. The past 2 years SHC was up at the half but ended up losing both years due to Anthony Villegas going wild in the second half. He was the difference maker.
