Geico Top Flight Tournament is currently going on.

Watched the Prolific Prep vs. Hoop Nation Game and it was a blood bath.

Not a lot of Mor Seck or Zion Sensley.

MJ Rice and Adem Bona are bonafide NBA Lottery Picks.

Dior Johnson did not start Jordan Pope did.

Hope they didn't leave Riordan to ride the bench.

Saw the game last night... Prolific looked terrific, especially Bona and Rice.

Sensley and Seck will get their floor time eventually, they're underclassmen and behind those two studs on the depth chart and will have to earn it on the practice floor and in blowouts (which Prolific will have plenty of this year).

Unfortunately, Sensley has an injury that will have him out Indefinitely. Mor is improving everyday and getting comfortable practicing at faster speeds .

The Border League was a phenomenal experience. But it is very yearly to judge our players or chemistry. We have had maybe 8 practices with everyone there to date. Playing this early can be counterproductive but the National TV exposure for our players and program far exceeds the negatives. Played the #1 team in California and played a decent half and a sloppy half in a win. Played Dream City and played a very good half, and a sloppy half in a win on ESPNU. Oak hill was a bad performance with two bad halves against zone and trapping zones (just not enough time).

With 8 Seniors (and all of them taking official visits and Mcdonald's Wooten Camps, etc), we haven't even put out zone offense in yet, let alone our full defensively principles. We are also not in great playing shape yet. With that said, we are beyond a polished product at this point but thankful to be part of these great events. We will be a completely different team in a month.

Seck is already looking like a totally different player than he did last year at Riordan. He seems more versatile with the ball, and his hands are much more sure.

I won't say it was a bad move but it's certainly
A move that needs to be looked he was at riordan for two years with
ball domanating gaurds and seck was not a
major factor in there offense but when his time
Came for him to be a major point of emphasis
In there offense he decided to leave i will say
This COURT TIME is just as essential to development as is coaching and its's not like he
And he was getting bad coaching at riordan
At all.

that seems to be more the problem at public school. the prolific kids seem to get in d1 schools.
If they don't have D1 potential PP is not looking at them. Not all have gone D1, but all have/had the potential. Let's call these prep schools what they are,,basketball factories. Everyone has their time and place and some choose this route. Delusions of granduer enter into the minds of players and parents in making some of these decisions.. Some will go on to greatness, but the percentages are against the majority. If you have the talent the Next levels will find you, no matter where you play.. Basketball junkies understand this.

Don’t disagree at all. Playing for many of the fine coaches in the WCAL is a good example. Now that these kids are playing AAU and going to national Hs tournaments there aren’t any secrets. If you are good they will find you.
And if you have a desire to improve and work hard that is something that you are born with and can’t be taught.

To be honest what bothers me more is kids jumping around from school to school. I don’t think that is healthy.

it is your job as a parent to put your child in the best possible position to succeed. if that is a kid who is good a science, the flute or a basketball. now what the child does with the opportunity is on them. but you have to set them on the path to success.
