You're way off on Merced v Oakdale. If Oakdale has 10 penalties or less Oakdale wins by 2 TD. Anything over 10 makes close game. Merced will not stop Oakdale system.

You are grossly underestimating how good the SFL is
Rocklin and OR games will not be close. Both roll Friday night. And GB is playing fantastic right now so I wouldn’t be surprised if they win also.

Thats what's so fun about high school sports! I wouldn't be suprised to see all 3 lose.

if the officials are from anywhere north of atwater and south of stockton... oakdale will have 2 penalties and merced will have 12.
Not so sure! 15 penalties in Enochs. CC game too many penalties. Escalon too many drive killing penalties. Oakdale very young team. 1 year away from being championship challenging season. But offence is fun to watch. Not typical Oakdale team. No long drives. Big plays 5 play drives. So they give up time of possession in all games.

Do the crews stay together or do they mix them up? I think the penalties depend on the officials more than the teams. In the Turlock-Gregori game Turlock had over 20 penalties. In the other games less until the last one against Enochs when they once again were hit with a lot of penalties. Same crew, maybe?

enochs, cc and escalon all are within that sector.. merced is not, and merced looks different.

My PrizePicks parlay, of course I will add Del Oro for the flex play...absolute SFL Domination wager $500 for $4500, easy money!

Manteca vs. Granite Bay -- Grizzlies
Oak Ridge vs. Turlock -- Trojans
Rocklin vs. Downey -- Thunder
Folsom vs. Cosumnes Oaks -- Bulldogs
Jesuit vs. Del Oro -- Golden Eagles

Granite Bay at Manteca, IMHO, is a tough one to project. Yes, Granite Bay is playing much better these days with tough losses to Rocklin (3OT) and Folsom (after having the lead). Yes, there are reports that GB’s bell cow RB Carter Jackson was hurt in their first game vs Manteca. But, Manteca was without their bell cow RB Bryson Davis. And, Manteca D shut out the Grizzlies … ZERO points … in that first meeting. ZERO! My take is that Manteca is not a good match-up for Granite Bay, a contest between two heavy running teams. Who will stop who? Who will make the critical turnover or critical big play? It’s a tough one. But, I really feel Bryson Davis is going to make a big difference, more impact than a healthy Carter Jackson. But, that’s just my opinion. It can go either way. But, I’m leaning with Manteca and a lot of Bryson Davis. Yes, there will be a lot of Carter Jackson, too.

Davis had 256 yards (9.5 ypc) vs Oakdale
Davis had 228 yards (7.9 ypc) vs Central Catholic

Jackson had 201 yards (14.4 ypc) vs Rodriguez
Jackson had 74 yards (4.1 ypc) vs Folsom
Jackson had 98 yards (4.3 ypc) vs Rocklin
Jackson had 54 yards (3.6 ypc) vs Oak Ridge
Jackson had 281 yards (14.8 ypc) vs Whitney
Jackson had 270 yards (18.0 ypc) vs Del Oro
Jackson had 147 yards (8.6 ypc) vs Vacaville

And vs Manteca a hurt Jackson had 47 yards on just 7 carries (6.7 ypc). In that game Manteca’s Luckey had 107 yards on 21 carries (5.1 ypc). Imagine what Davis is going to do.

Great viewpoint on matchups!! Manteca at home is a real advantage! I expect 700 plus rushing yards. Granite Bay will have to outduel the Buffaloes for 4 quarters. VOL is Tested, perhaps this Friday they can make claim versus the SFL. St. Mary's would have better league competition if they joined the VOL.

Manteca had the opportunity to join St. Mary’s in TCAL realignment. But, decided to stay in VOL and instead Kimball from VOL joined TCAL starting 2024. Edison also joined TCAL for football only while Tokay moved to SJAA and West moved to SJAA for football only.

Granite Bay is tested as well and maybe more so (with SFL league play). I’m just thinking Manteca’s D vs GB rushing game will have more success than GB’s D vs Manteca’s rushing game, as occurred in the first game. But, GB may be playing better and have every chance to win this game.

Call it Pick'em withdraw!

My Picks

D1
Folsom vs. Cosumnes Oaks - CO gets out to a good start and makes it competitive in the first half. The Bulldogs half time adjustments too much in the 2nd half for CO. Folsom 35-17

Monterey Trail vs. Inderkum - In my opinion this maybe the best game of the weekend. Both teams have play makers in the backfield and run the ball consistently down your throat. I anticipate a couple of lead changes, maybe even overtime. Inderkum avoids the mistake that Grant made and pound the ball for 4 quarters, wearing MT down late. Inderkum 38-35 in a thriller.

Oak Ridge vs. Turlock- Oak Ridge and Coach Taylor are feeling the sting of coming up short in a great game against Rocklin to close out the regular season. Turlock has played a great non-conference schedule and are well prepped for a playoff run. Oak Ridge with a week off starts sluggish, but quickly adjust by the 2nd quarter and maintain control of this one. Oak Ridge 45-14

Central Catholic vs. Edison - Edison enjoys the benefits of a few big plays but CC dominates the time of possession and wins the turnover battle. CC 35-20

D2
St. Mary's vs. Vacaville- The Bulldogs offense will put pressure on the Rams defensive front, try to control the clock, and take a few shots down the field. The Rams have learned a lot about themselves in the trenches, especially after the DLS loss. Valuable experience and too many weapons for the Rams. No let down this round. Rams 48-14

Manteca vs. Granite Bay -Everyone loves a rematch! Hard hitting low scoring defensive battle in the 1st game. That won't be the case this time. The coaching staff at GB has there team playing well at the right time. GB 28-17

Jesuit vs. Del Oro - The Golden Eagles defense has struggled at times this year to consistently stop the run. Jesuit looks to take full advantage and exploit this weakness. DO over the years has always been physical in the trenches. This years appears to be different. A couple of late 1st downs to run out the clock and secures the win for Jesuit 27-24.

Rocklin vs. Downey - The Thunder will be shocked and find themselves in a battle. Downey pulls out all the tricks and finds some success. Rocklin too consistent and disciplined on both side of the ball. What starts out as a good contest ends a lot different. Rocklin 38-17

D3
Grant vs. Linden -Grant too big, physical, and fast! Pacers plagued with penalties and lack of discipline keep Linden around for a while. Also, poor play calling may stall a couple of drives for the Pacers, but overall way too much talent. Grant 56-20

Oakdale vs. Merced -I expect a good game that will come down to the final moments of the forth quarter. Both teams are balanced on offense. Both teams have struggled on defense against good teams that run the ball. Special teams will be the difference. Merced 36-34

Vanden vs. Roseville- Upset alert! Roseville wins the turnover battle, field position, and time of possession. The recipe to win is there, but somehow Vanden who is favored to win, escapes at home. Vanden 30-24

Woodcreek vs. Christian Brothers- Woodcreek arguably the best team in the D3 field will have its hand full with CB who wants to get back to the D3 championship game. CB has grit and fight, but Woodcreek is too balanced and well coached.
Woodcreek 27-10

D4
Escalon vs. Sacramento- Escalon is a well oiled machine on offense. Eating up chunks of yards and controlling the clock all night will be a lot for the Dragons defense to deal with. The Dragon offense has the speed to stretch the field and hit the home run ball. But 1st the offensive line needs to open up some lanes to establish a running game. No easy task against the Escalon D that has played solid all year. Closer than you might think. Escalon 34-20

Placer vs. West Park - A rematch that most people knew would happen again in the playoffs. Can Placer sweep WP or will WP get sweet revenge. Not this year! Placer 38-34

Patterson vs. Kimball - Kimball has lost to some good teams this year. Add 9-1 Patterson to the list. Patterson 27-7

Vista Del Lago vs. Rio Americano - Vista has every reason to feel confident. They have looked good all year and are playing well. As long as they don't over look Rio this should be a fun Friday night filled with highlights. Vista 41-14
