If you're talking City players, Eddie Stansberry is playing very well this year. He really stood out in their win against MV during the Holidays and has shouldered much of the Crusader offense and D with the injuries they currently have, putting the Crusaders in a position to win almost every game. The Jr. Hollins is definitely a very good player and should have a monster senior season next year.

I like the play of Stansberry, his junior year was phenomenal, it would great to see him achieve more as a senior and with a healthy Crusader team. With James Chun in the mix and some of the other guys back from football, the SHC/Riordan game will be crazy too.

iamgearyblvd hatred toward this kid is so obvious, such a hypocrite. I still say you know NOTHING about this game, and want to speak as an authority and be respected. Hoping for validation, still throwing brutal insults at a child in a form that’s not for that purpose. You’re the bully that’s never done nothing and will never do nothing, you time is up!

I dont hate him. Why would I? He's done nothing personal to me. You on the contrary seem to have taken this personally. Would you like a sticker for your C+ on your test? Referencing male genitalia is a bad reflection on your personality. Calling people a POS makes you the hypocrite. I actually commended him on trying volleyball because seeing his spike attempt on the opening tip was pretty good.

Pratt
Just like Herman Pratt IV.

Pratt is the all time best SHC basketball player for me...No one played Defense like him, he maximized his potential always. He was great fun to watch...and proved that Defense wins Championships, even when the Bigs Fox and Johns were gone, he stepped up and helped SHC win games they had no business winning.

Odiye (sp?) who played on the 2001-2002 Irish Team that beat Riordan in the CCS III Title game but lost in the NorCal Final was another defensive standout. He played the best defense on Marquise Kately of all the players I saw defend him that year. And that includes Centennial's Aaron Afflalo who plays in the NBA.

The last few SH teams have been lacking players like Pratt, Petroni, Odiye. They werent the best talent, but you never watched a game they played where you werent wowed by their energy/effort.

For me the most impressive player was Nate Gartrell. 6'3, could play any position, glided in the air, defensive genius, and clutch.

2 former Crusaders stand out for me that were often overlooked during the Riordan 6 year consecutive title runs. Denfield Wade and Wayman Strickland. Both were 6-2 but long athletic fast and high motor players. Wade absolutely shut down Hall of Famer Gary Payton during their 3 battles over 2 seasons.

Good baseball player too.

J24,I've heard Eddie may be attending St. Mary's, can you confirm this? Nice landing spot for him if it is accurate.

Hollins isn't perfect...Please tell me another player better than him or with his game currently in San Francisco...He is going up against a guy much taller than him and he is trying to make contact with the ball. Tell me one coach who wouldn't want him as an addition on their team in the WCAL or even colleges with his skill set? Its almost like complaining about Thomas on the SHC girls team that she should be faster on the court running after the rebound. If we expect perfection from just one player then we wouldn't need the rest of the team...Another blogger said Mello is not attending SHC now, is that true? Can anyone elaborate? He was on the stands with a SHC jacket

Alfred is very good and keeps getting better.....

Micah from Lick and Sean from University are having excellent seasons thus far as is Will from Saint Ignatius

That is news to me! SMC would be a very good spot for him. Jordan Ford and Stansberry would make a nice guard combination. Article on Stansberry that was posted on Prep2prep yesterday was about him not getting a ton of looks from colleges since he did not participate in the AAU circuit last Spring/Summer.

I also thought if it was a done deal it would have received some more publicity. Apparently Bennett has been seen at some of the Crusader games. I was at the Forum last week and that was what was mentioned to me by some Crusader faithful. Thanks for the link J24. Eddie will be a very nice coup for someone. Good size and can flat out score, he's a gamer!!

I also heard that Eric Galindo was accepted to Stanford. Great accomplishment, kid must be extremely bright!

Highlights of game from Sports Focus. Obviously, I am bias. But an obvious foul at the end. And no turtledove, Alfred didn't initiate the contact. I have to say, Trammell was key to the game.

At game speed at time of infraction, I thought it was a good no call. With times to slow it down, replay numerous time (and factor in how game was called all game), maybe a foul should have been called. Just dont want to determine game on the line at end. That is why official are paid to factor all accounts of a play (at game speed, not the luxury of replay). Put it this way, is that called made with 2:00 left in third quarter. Yes. In hindsight, should have it been called at end of game. Yes.

This was arguably the most competitive SI SHC basketball game in recent history, that's even taking into account last years game.

The Whinin Irish at it again. It's always the refs or youth or the field or injuries and on and on. They can never just lose a game. The football team has endured a lot of bad ref calls, young players etc over the last four years to be 0-22 in league.
