Too bad SHC doesn't get a chance to play Mater Dei. Win or lose, that would've been a great measuring stick for them going in to the season.

I believe Arizona is still one of few states in Union that does not have a 35 second clock. Will be a test of patience.

It would be not pleasant to see. It would be similar to when they played Sacramento High last year in the MLK tournament. We have no one to stop Cage or any of their other 6'7 wing players that they churn out every year. Im glad we will not be playing them.

I get it, but at least you're playing the best. It would be similar to Riordan playing O'Dowd last year. They actually hung around for a half before the Dragons pulled away.

I'd feel much better if we ran out Kevin Greene, Jerry Brown, and Nate Gartrell.

Its Mater Dei Catholic from San Diego thats is in the tournament, not Mater Dei from.Santa Ana

Haha. I felt the same way last year against BOD. It would have been nice to run out Rob Jones, Camacho and Daniel Cannon...

I think Jones would have punished Rabb inside and left him multiple bruises. At the same time I'm sure Rabb wouldve dunked on him a few times.

Hahaha, you would think you could get a roster from the admin at school website by now...but they are always so late...J. Pardini is 6'5, Kamiri Smith is at least 5'10, but you notice their is only one senior on this team, Sheppard?. Very young indeed, leadership roles will need to be defined quickly other than Hollins. He can't be the only main shooter on this team, come league time. This loss was probably to be expected, Pinnacle looks bigger than most WCAL teams too.

My take with non 35 second clock, negatively affects fast tempo teams. Combined that with an opponent with big guys in paint, SHC was exposed as soft in the middle.Sheppard will provide strength but relatively small in paint. Carter and Pardini height, but soft in the paint. They are one year away.

Verador, Smith, and Dunbar all attended Aptos Middle School. Must be a mistake from Twitter as Dunbar is a Junior. Young team that will challenge and battle but agree that they are a year away.

They should spend a little more time in the weight room too.
