San Jose Unified School District / Distance learning extended till end of Dec 2020

Hey Onetime, let's keep this convo here since you started it. Santa Rosa Unified also voted to extend distance learning through the end of December. In the board meeting it was Staff members of the schools pushing for the extension and a majority of parents pushing for a return to school as numbers have continued to decline in recent weeks. You have to figure that means that the schools in those districts will not begin practicing on the CIF December 14th date and at the very least not meet the requirements to play their first 2 to 3 games on their schedule.
The California Teachers Association is very much behind this. The interesting thing is that its very much the minority numbers making decisions against what the majority wants. If this continues to become the trend at most school districts in spite of improving numbers across the state, I would expect to see the private schools again explore options to play the season. And unless Federal funding is granted to bail out California for its unilateral economic shutdown expect the CTA to push for distance learning through the balance of the school year.
