First off, this is just the way I see it going down. But, this should be close.

#1 - Folsom (9-1)
#2 - Oak Ridge (8-2)
#3 - Monterey Trail (9-1)
#4 - Inderkum (10-0)
(Top 4 based on CalPreps Ratings)

#12 Gregori (6-4) @ #5 St. Mary's (6-4)
#11 Del Oro (5-5) @ #6 Davis (9-1)
#10 Pleasant Grove (6-4) @ #7 Turlock (8-2)
#9 Lincoln-S (9-1) @ Edison (9-1)
(League Champs get home games)

Sacramento MaxPreps is projecting the same.

Thoughts??

Del Oro is 6-4, not 5-5. Based on strength of schedule I don’t see any way Pleasant Grove is seeded higher than DO.

You are correct, my bad! IMO, PG will be #10 to avoid league match-up with Davis in first round. I could be wrong.

Top 4 all all really good teams. OR doesn’t match up well with MT or Indy. Speed will give them issues but MT/Indy schedule pretty weak so hard to tell how good they are.

We dont know what division we are until tomorrow at 2 pm. No clue. So many rumors and scenarios. We shall see.

If I remember your previous posts correctly, the "We" you are referencing is Inderkum. Inderkum is D1. Lock it in--not a rumor. If you didn't mean Inderkum, my apologies.

The good news is that there are a lot of match-ups that favor Inderkum in D1. Definite contender.

Folsom is still the odds-on favorite, but there is a reason that the games must still be played.

I am a coach at Inderkum correct. I assume we will be D1 but we haven't been told anything yet. We will play anywhere but my point is unless news has already been leaked we as a staff haven't been told anything. Last year we were rated higher than Central Catholic by cal preps but they got the 2 seed and we got the 3 seed. Always tough to speculate were we will be placed since we have seen first hand the committee can make changes.

I think most agree but gap has narrowed with Folsom but still heavy favorites to win. The next 3 teams are all very intriguing but gotta think OR has at least gone thru a rather brutal SFL and a recent nice win against a solid Elk Grove team. MT dynamic QB was biggest Achilles heel for OR last year. He’s gone and Lamson is arguably the best QB section. Indy tons of speed which is problem. Should be fun. Look forward to some great games.

You have hit onto the big question, for sure: How closely will the Section follow the Cal Preps ratings?

Inderkum should be fourth in D1 by that measure, but there are those posting projections that move them up and down a spot. None of us will know where anyone is landing until after 2 pm today. Good luck.

Exactly, for years, many here have tried to project the seedings by the SJS playoff committee and I don’t of anyone here that has ever projected correctly. What goes thru the mind of these people is definitely not predictable because they do not 100% follow the rules they set always leaving in some kind of gray area to lean on to justify their decision. I must say their decision process is even less predictable than the college BCS committee. Lol.

Follow the money trail is the CIF way.....it's NOT about the kids playing ball but how much they can put in their pocket!

Want to know why MT is #5? PG at MT is a bigger gate than PG at anywhere else. The schools are less than 5 miles apart.
