Twelve JV teams are divided into three four-team brackets -- Open, Division I and Division II -- to finish the junior varsity season with an event designed to show teams and coaches how far they come this year.

The brackets were decided by a vote of the coaches, but the Carondelet JV Invitational is also an opportunity for coaches to start setting up next year's schedule, entering tournaments, etc. The plan is to make this an annual JV showcase for teams at all levels, and an opportunity for coaches and players to see just how good JV teams can be.

The event will span two Saturdays -- Feb. 1 and Feb. 8. The winners on the first Saturday will play for the championship the next Saturday, and the losers will play for third.

The matchups;

Open

Carondelet vs. Castro Valley, 3:30 p.m.
California (top seed) vs. Clayton Valley, 5 p.m.

Division 1

Northgate vs. Bishop O'Dowd, 12:30 p.m.
Salesian (top seed) vs. Campolindo, 2 p.m.

Division 2

Amador Valley vs. College Park, 9:30 a.m.
Freedom (top seed) vs. Harker, 11 a.m.
