SEQUOIA wins it 62 - 48 final That should secure HMB the #1 seed in D-4 CCS in case there was any thoughts of “Somebody” else getting on the board before them

Why wouldn't Santa Cruz be ahead of HMB? They just won their tourny today too. 21-4 I believe with some nice wins. Better league by quite a bit. HMB has good wins too but I think its similar is it not????

Sorry, HMB resume, especially out of league, is stronger. SC does not have a key win outside its league. HMB has non-league wins over Mission SF (AAA champion), Stuart Hall and Menlo-Atherton, plus an overtime road loss to Riordan in San Francisco by 5.

I’m not sure how they have Jeff at the one seed with their week schedule. They barely got by Terra Nova on 2/13/18 by 2 and TN is not even going to make CCS. that’s the same TN team HMB beat by 40, 81-41 just days earlier. then they lose to sequoia by 14 and were really never a threat to win that game, and yes that’s the same Sequoia that had to battle with HMB the night before to win by 7. I know it’s a feel good story for a program on the raise and everybody loves the coach but this comes down to the facts not politics and the Good ol’ boy system. We’ll see how this plays out around 4:30 this evening. Keep in mind i’m Not anti Jefferson..... but I am PRO HMB!

My picks are as follows for CCS Open. Bottom line is that Bellarmine is going to have to play a team from the WCAL because Sequoia beat Serra head to head. Frankly, not much of a difference if you are 2 or 3 or 6 or 7. The big difference is if you are 3 or 4, 5 or 6 and 7 or 8.

Patrick Schneider has a really tough job today as WCAL rep as he will have to advocate for teams which go against his own best interest as Bellarmine coach.

1. Bellarmine

2. Menlo

3. St. Francis

4. St. Ignatius

5. Palo Alto

6. Mitty

7. Sequoia

8. Serra

I agree that HMB has a better resume than Jefferson and it will go HMB, Jeff and Santa Cruz in that order in D4.

Congrats to Burlingame boys soccer team which is seeded 6 in Open Division and will host #3 Mitty on Sat Feb 24
