Serra 7-6 end of first with each team fumbling once and a questionable "personal foul" call against VC. Serra does not have an adequate defensive plan devised to contain VC's WR-Jurion Dickey
on offense. On any long 3rd downs it's almost automatic that VC will pass to Dickey as that is what they've done all season - Dickey IS their primary WR. Dickey caught one nice pass and was clearly open and end of first quarter ran by 2 Serra defenders to haul in a long pass and run untouched another 30 yards into the end zone. This is the best WR in the WCAL and Serra needs to at least contain Dickey to short range passes as he's entirely capable of scoring several more TD's with loose coverage.

FYI: Dickey 6'2-210 is a junior who is a 3-year starter on varsity and has a number of Div 1 offers.

Serra 14-6 with 2 min. left in first 1/2. VC just intercepted for the 2nd time and both INT's were on poorly thrown passes by Serra - ie: "thrown up for grabs". While the Padres are leading at the moment VC is at the Serra 40 with 2 min left & a chance to possibly tie the score up going into halftime.

First 1/2 ends 14-6 Serra. A lot of penalties by both teams including 3 offsides in a row by VC in one series.
Serra had a long INT negated and brought back on a clipping penalty and then an intentional grounding call against Serra had Serra backed up on their own 6 with 4th and 22 before taking a knee to end the 1/2.

Game now tied 14-14 after a 3rd Serra turnover on a fumble and TD by VC and successful 2-point conversion.

After a block in the back penalty on 2nd half kickoff Serra marches 90 yards all on run plays to go up 21-14 mid 3rd quarter.

2-point conversion fails and Serra up by 28-23.

Serra catches a major break when a 3rd & long run play is stuffed and VC is called for a 15-yard facemask penalty.
Next play Serra throws a 40+ yard TD pass into end zone..

34-23 Serra with 6 minutes remaining. On a trick play Serra has 2 wide open receivers at the VC 20 yard line and the pass is thrown short to a VC DB instead - Serra's 4th turnover of the day...

Serra holds on 4th down and takes over with 4 min and should have the win..
