SFL Opening League Play

Folsom is 2-0 against DLS in the last two years, both in Concord. :) Folsim is the King of Concord!

Folsom was down with a back up QB for a bit last year. The best revenge was on Rocklin in the playoffs. I've NEVER EVER seen a team physically beaten up as bad as Rocklin was in that playoff game. The Rocklin sideline wen't absolutely bonkers. You should have seen the parents. It was BADDD! :)

Rocco's Pizza sucks.
The Backup QB had power 5 offers. Jimmy G wasn’t slinging it .

3 points in a playoff game. :)
Hey thats football, a bunch of homegrown talent, grit and no excuses. Im pretty sure they were proud of that season. It's sad/funny, every post from you is Folsom is so dominant, until their not and you dissappear.

Even more intriguing is you seem to know, or offer little about your program, the players, xo stuff, game adjustments, team clubhouse stuff. It's all bluster and troll material. I tend to think you really don't know much about your own program at all, save google and maxpreps, or that annual booster letter asking for your money but still insisting you remain 💯 feet away from the school at all times. ⛈

The sooner you guys hit the ignore button, the better off you’ll be. Trust me.

Your description is 100% accurate, btw.

Ok, here is my stab at Friday night lights in the SFL.

Del Oro 44
Granite Bay 40
I think this this will be high scoring affair with 2 dynamic offenses. Carter jackson will have a big Game and Break a few long ones but in the end I like the legs of Pinnick to make it tough to contain DO. He’s great on broken plays and making something out of nothing.

Rocklin 24
Whitney 10
Rocklin seems to be getting mojo back after tough loss in game 1. I look for them to handle Rivals Whitney by 2 scores.

drum roll!
Gotta go with Oak Ridge on this one.
Folsom has had 2 monster road wins and is due for a let down game. This has all the makings of upset city. Most of these OR kids played against Folsom QB when he was at DO /Jr program and have beaten him. They aren’t afraid and expect to win. Oak Ridge will be the most balanced offensive team Folsom has played this year. They will be at a disadvantage on the speed and athleticism side which is a red flag. We will know soon enough if OR can hang with the game speed. Oak Ridge has a huge line and is strong in the trenches. I think they will be able to move the ball on ground and in air. Gotta limit big plays of Folsom. OR can’t let the duo of smith and Flores go nuts.

Oak Ridge 30
Folsom 27

Biggest game in Norcal!

It was the WAY the 3 points in a playoff game happened.

All the chest thumping when Rocklin won a measly 1 league game against Folsom in over a decade. The parents and kids were acting like it was a Super Bowl win.

After putting up 3 points in a playoff game and getting physically beaten down sooooo bad, I've never seen so much vitriol by a Rocklin squad. It was sad, yet so satisfying.

So Folsom wins TWO huge games back to back on the road, and you say they are due for a let down? Wow.

I think the let down is coming quick to El Dorado Hills on Friday night. You and I have both seen this play out before. We all know how it ends.

Oakridge seems better and the qb transfer is in his 2nd year. CT is a hell of a coach and is great fit in El Dorado Hills. OR will be physical and dress up their offense as good as anyone around. Folsom is loaded with the best talent in the section for what seems like the last 10 plus years. Question is how well their qb transfer recovers from missing last yr and how quick he can adjust to Folsom scheme. Can teams force him to complete into small windows, not sure anyone in that league can play man successfully vs all that skill talent. Del Oro seems improved but not at the level as their section championship teams yet. Granite Bay has a great coach and will play a different brand of football, I don't think they're are as deep as last year but style makes fights. Rocklin seems to always do this, a great team followed by a couple down years (for a top team). Rocklin best/top teams can compete with anybody, not sure of this a top Rocklin team or not but all Rocklin teams are physical and tough.

Imo, It's Folsom's league to lose per usual. I expect OR and GB to give Folsm a fight but ultimately Folsom has way too much talent to lose. Your going to have to out coach and out physical Folsom. I don't see any other way to defeat that much talent.

Proximity of the two schools alone always makes this such a fun match up!

I won't be surprised if CT has a good defensive game plan for Folsom's QB. To me, question will be whether Folsom can get the run game going with Maxey-Parler. They did last week against the Spartans, averaging over 5 yards per carry with the talented back.

If OR can nullify that aspect of the Bulldogs offensive attack, I like their chances a lot more.

Offensively I haven't seen much from OR beyond some occasional highlights. But I have seen Folsom play a few times and their defense is very good. IMO it's been the strength of their team to this point in the season.

IDK whether OR can muster enough points to win or not, but my guess is they'd need to score around 24 or so. If they can make Folsom one-dimensional by limiting the rush attack, I see this game score similar to last week's DLS game. A 24-20 type affair.

If DO can't slow the run game and/or allows Flores and the passing game to make big plays -- I can easily see a 41-14 type game in Folsom's favor.

I would argue they really struggled on defense vs Folsom when he was at Del oro though. Alot of vanilla vs Richardson and Taylor. I know Dougherty is not them and times have changed. My best guess is similar to ThunderRam. Slow the game down. Use the full play clock most snaps, pick and chose ur tempo to keep Folsom off guard. Use the snap count to ur advantage. Utilize heavy sets (have a trick set up off them). Squeeze and hold the ball to keep Folsom O off the field, hope this makes them frustrated and you can steal a possession or 2 bc of their frustration. Oh and play with zero mental errors on both sides. Tackle well in open space, no 5 yard gains that turn into 50 yard tds. Game plans always work on paper.

I think OR will get up a TD early.

I predict that Folsom slowly chokes them out over a long 4th quarter.

You heard it here first.

You guys are dialed in and all bring up great points.
The Speed of Folsom is my biggest concern.

OR is going to struggle big time against the Folsom defense.

Sparty had a tough time moving the ball against them and put up a goose egg in an entire half.

OR's O-Line/run game and occasional pass will be needed if OR has a chance. (See MT, Serra and DLS). Keep the Folsom offense off the field.

Agreed that Taylor’s DO teams struggled with Folsom’s offense while TT was there.

He was 1-3 against them with the lone W being the epic 43-42 playoff thriller. Although that game was 35-7 at half largely due to turnovers and Folsom only scored 7 the rest of the game.

The other games were straight blow outs.

Thing is, this Folsom offense isn’t the high octane offense of the last decade.

I think Taylor has a better shot to keep them under control

This is hilarious. Just seeing this, and I just mentioned the disappearing act on another thread. Amazing isn’t it. And dude is a grown man.

Agreed. Although I’m a little more partial to the Rocklin-DO games ;)

IMO when both teams are really good it’s hard to find a better match up in the Sac area. The atmosphere and fan excitement is top notch.

But GB-DO is pretty darn good too.

Can we give Patsy a pass, please? He has every right to love his team. Folsom is awesome and they have been the 2nd best program in Norcal for the past 10+ years. 2nd Behind De la, and now behind Serra. Never playing in the state open championships, that ok, It's just hard for some people to understand. Go, Folsom! Were #2

Ironically, still number 2, but in front of DLS at #3 or #4 :)

Big L is a loss bro. C'mon.
Well having coached high school sports I don’t consider a big loss for a team who is supposed to be dominated. Experienced a few upsets in my time, the best one early in the year led us to a state title ring. But we had no business losing. Had we beat the team who hosted the tournament nobody on our team or staff would have said hey that’s a big loss for them. That was my point

I see it a close game whoever prevails. I think this one goes the distance.
He doesn’t get it. He just always been a homer fan in the stands. If I believe my team is that much better than our opponent, then nothing is a big loss nor is it a big win. If I am bold enough to tell the world the opponent has no chance, then please explain to me how the term “a big loss” even fits the conversation.

Mater Dei and SJB should win big tonight. Ain’t no big loss if they handle their respective business.

We'll get to see what backing out of a Bellarmine game and scheduling Chico teams does to you vs. elite teams.
If you are that good YOU know it. Per all your rants this game shouldn’t even be close. Just like down south those two league games will not even be close.

I never said the game wouldn't be close.

I said OR wouldn't win.
Look back in this very thread at 7:06pm on Sunday. In your own words, “Oak Ridge will get smoked.” Does that mean they lose by 3, 5, cause if someone says my team is gonna smoke the other team, I would hope 20 plus would be in the convo. Your words BRO. And don’t backtrack now.
