this is NOT what MLK had that speech about! So, here's the rest of the story regarding that near-fight in the first half of the DV game... No, I'm not gonna call anyone out, either side.
From what I gather, the incident resulted in 4 T's, two for each side... I think. One player on Santa Rosa was ejected.
During the 2nd half, both coaches near-constantly woofed at each other and the refs pretty good... No T's were given, but refs warned and watched closely.
So, all was pretty much fine, though fans of each side were calling the others classless (and a few other things) throughout the 2nd half.
As normal for me, I stay out of these things as much as I can.
Things got hairy during the handshake line, though... No idea who started what, but I didn't see or hear any punches... Lots of yelling, a bit of pushing... Players, coaches, some fans got into it while some others were trying to keep things from getting nutty.
Somehow, cooler heads prevailed, but even as I made my escape (after finding that Stokes' point total was 31), factions from the two sides were at either end, glaring the other side down, lots of muttering.
Just another night in the gym, huh??
please shareWent back and caught some of the footage to see what happened. Looked like the postgame stuff sparked from a Santa Rosa player not shaking hands.
Santa Rosa HS should have never been playing DV. Nothing good comes out of a game like that for either program. So, here's the rest of the story regarding that near-fight in the first half of the DV game... No, I'm not gonna call anyone out, either side.

There were a bunch of hard fouls and techs throughout the game. Postgame one of the SR players pulled his hand away from Hansen during the handshake lane, and Hansen said something about it to Lott, the Santa Rosa coach. Lott took exception to whatever he said.please share
The ejection was mid second quarter.Looked up the video on nfhs and surprised anyone was ejected, looked like a pretty normal scuffle with offsetting T's but I guess you never know what magic words were said
Correct, that is what I am referring to. Guys got tangled up, SR guy kind pushed DV guy a little extra, DV teammate came and gave that guy a shove and there was some exchanging of words but I didn't see any punches thrown or anything. The ejection was mid second quarter.
