Very much looking forward to the Mitty/OC rematch. Also excited to see Riordan's xfers compete.
Just last season in boys’ ball, Modesto Christian transfers became eligible for the last day of their tourney, and they played in the final…. So I don’t think tourney status matters at all; it’s the date.
It always struck me as odd that sit out period is by date and not by number of games. Teams just stack their games to be after Jan 4. Sit out period should be, let’s say, 10 games. Pinewood played only 5 games before deadline. No doubt intentional.
Yep...and unlikely many Mitty players on that frosh team see any meaningful varsity time in their careers.
Will they ever play in a competitive game in their high school career? Serious question. The Mitty frosh haven’t played someone within 20 points since what 2015? If they happen to make JV, the JV team hasn’t played a competitive game under 20 points in multiple years either. I guess they could always transfer if they’d like to play Varsity somewhere after two years. Still a crazy level of dominance. Unprecedented domination.
Yes it is quite impressive. But I stand firm on my analysis. If they are playing frosh team as a freshman and jv team as a sophomore? They won't be good enough to see any meaningful minutes on the varsity team especially when the frosh make it to varsity their junior years after putting in the time Mitty will just go out and poach the best players from other schools who will play ahead of them. 🤷
