Denair v Bradshaw Christian.

Bradshaw is only 12-18, but they’ve played a far more challenging slate than that of 22-4 Denair.

The teams have met, though, with Denair winning by 1.

Not having my keyboard because I didn’t know if they’d let me in with it, my updates will be just occasional blurbs.

Patterson leads Bradshaw with 9, also 5 boards.

The Plasencia brothers lead the way for Denair with 17 points between them, also 4 rebounds each.

Now it’s D3 boys…. Vanden tries to complete the double win after their girls did their part a few minutes ago.

Vanden is 18-12 against a very strong schedule, having played many of the top powers in NorCal… Lots of gifted athletes on this squad.

Central Catholic is 22-9…. I haven’t seen these guys, so…. I got nuthin’. 🙂

CC has a 6’4” junior named Malachi Miller who looks like the real deal…

And a couple 6’5” sophomores…. future looks bright down there…

Takai Emerson-Hardy is a 6’7” beast on Vanden….

Meanwhile, as I texted all that, CC went on a run. 23-19 CC.

But before that, Vanden had reversed CC’s start-of-quarter run…. But that BOMB got CC back within 3…. 31-28 Vanden at the half.

One play later, he fouls out…. Call looked way wrong. 48-45 Vanden.

Looked like a Vanden guy tripped up on a teammate with Miller close by.

Anyway…. 4:11 left, 50-47 Vanden…

3 minutes…. 50-49…. Flagrant foul on CC trying to block a layup…. and a T on the bench. 4 shots and the ball. 4 of 4 good.

Hardy fouled, FT’s split, 55-53.

Now 1:25 left after a bricked frontend for CC…. Vanden ball and 2 point lead.

Vanden unable to score…. CC ball, 40 seconds…. Three close-range tries, no go.. but CC fouled on the last one…. First FT missed, time out.

2nd shot nope…. Foul, Vanden with double bonus. 20 seconds…. one good…. CC down by 3…. for some reason a driving try, no go…. Foul, Vanden double bonus…. First one no good. Time out, 6 seconds.

CC needs a miss and a 3.

2nd rattles in…. CC gets it downcourt and calls time. Unless something completely nuts happens in these last 3 seconds, it’s over…. Quick corner 3 try is SWATTED by Hardy…. Vanden wins!

Hardy scored 19 and grabbed 9 boards.

D1 title game coming up…. Modesto Christian vs Sheldon…. Two storied powerhouses having at it!

Sheldon seemed to be having a very slightly down year, but seems to have pulled things together at just the right time.

On the other hand, MC is just doing what they do….

Should be a good one!

Phillips is HEATING UP!

He has 11 total.

Halftime score: 26-24 MC.

The buzzer might be the best thing Sheldon could have happen…. Phillips hit a pair of 3’s and also a terrific baseline drive for a score, all in about the last 90 seconds. Sheldon can hope he cools off in the locker room.
