The Warriors got past Jefferson last night in Daly City, 20-18. No big deal? Right? Wrong. That was South City's first varsity win in 27 straight tries. Once a dominant Peninsula public school program, SSF has fallen on lean times. The 26-game losing streak, now over, is the longest in school history. Walk-on coaches have come and gone. Interest in the sport has waned on campus. There was no varsity at all in 2021. But former Coach Frank Moro, an on-campus teacher, was urged to come back and resurrect what was left of the program. He has. That's not to say South City has suddenly become a powerhouse again. It hasn't. But at least it's somewhat respectable.

I wonder how many south city kids are on Serra’s roster now. That plus cost of living has hurt them.

thank you Coach for resurrecting the program and hopefully leaving it in a better place before you retire in a few years. Kids learn the game, learn how to be part of a team, overcome adversity, and they will get some W’s along the way.
