Competitive equity. The girls have been more successful than the boys over the last 4 years. When a team like BOD gets moved up to D1, they need to drop a D1 team down. They have a point system based on recent success and the boys were probably lower on that totem pole than the girls. The boys and girls divisions are independent of each other, although the first thing they look at is attendance where they are obviously the same.
