Round one of the D2 NorCals...

Woodcreek seems to have righted the ship at least somewhat after having the Jordan Brown rug pulled out from under them...

St Joe’s is... well, St Joe’s. They never back down from anyone...
As is often the case, the opponent has a size advantage, but the Pilots will bring it!

I’m sure both teams have brought the lunch pail and are ready to do some work!

15-15 end of 1...

That momentum change started when Julian Vaughn got his2nd foul just before the missed goaltend.

27-17 with 4:36 left 2nd q... It’s been ALL Woodcreek since that 12-0 Pilot start.

Fast break buzzer-beater layup pulls the Pilots back within 6...

32-26 Woodcreek.

Looked for a bit like the Pilots might get blown the heck outa their own gym... Now they’re in the game, or close to it...

Pilots pulled within 2, but Woodcreek gets a couple 3’s to go back in front 45-37 halfway thru 3rd

Lots of upsets in CIF D2.....Both SPSV and SJND gone in one fell swoop.

As a Stuart Hall fan, I bask in their losses. I think SJND and Lippi are afraid to play Stuart Hall, after Amos got Jade suspended for their open run last year.

Next year you'll be on our level again, and I can't wait for a chance to finally have the advantage.

Doesn't matter the new system is screwed up. I get them not being open but Woodcreek is a D1 school who came in second place in SFL. Should be in D1

Yeah Larry! I wonder what you have to say? You spoke adamantly about Alameda, and that week league! You said all that size, and of course, how “well coached” they were; would lead to a blow out win. What happened? Maybe that league is not as bad as you assessed. Maybe they do more than play aau ball in that league. Most importantly, maybe Cameron Quick can coach his tail off and Alameda’s sum is better than their individual parts. That could explain why they gave O’Dowd hell until the last 3 minutes of that game; not any shortcomings with how O’Dowd played. I’m just saying maybe start with, you were completely wrong, missed that call and didn’t see that coming at all! Hmmm... Larry?

Didn't see that coming at all. Never said Alameda wasn't well coached or didn't play in a good league. Actually I said they play hard and are well coached. But you can't compare the SFL to their league. That is silly. Only thing I can think of is OR was done after they lost to Folsom and mentally they were checked out.
A lot of games didn't go the way people saw them. Look at Clayton Valley going down. Who had that game? SI blasting Berkeley.. St Francis losing to Central. Branson smoked Vanden who many thought would win. Los Gatos blasting Antelope... The list goes on and on.

This competitive equity seeding situation actually is good in the sense that we are seeing schools that would unlikely play each other in the old format because of their Divisions. I think we've seen the same teams more often than not play the same teams year after year. I like the breaking of the mold if you will. Novelty matchup/rivalries can be born from this.

I'm sorry Larry. I confused you with another poster who had those things to say about the league, and hinted that O'Dowd would struggle because of how long Alameda hung around in their matchup. There were certainly a LOT of surprises last night. I wonder is this making us all appreciate the new format more, or overall or we displeased with some who were left out, or incorrectly seeded? Thoughts Larry? Others?
