TEAMS TO WATCH
After two rounds, these teams have some thing to say...Monte Vista, McClymonds, Cardinal Newman, Rancho Cotate, ,Dublin, Antioch, Deer Valley, Freedom, Granada, Amador Valley, Miramonte, Acalanes Las Lomas and Ygnacio Valley.
Pittsburg, CVC and DLS have already made a statement....Now begins
the process of who will stay undefeated or will finish the preseason with only one loss....There may be a few more teams that will stand out, but we need more games played to see who means business.

The statements I get from these 3 is simple. Pitt has issues they seem to lose focus in the second half and it will cost them. State bowl game jump out to lead and fold down stretch, same against CVC, and I believe they didn't score in second set against SMS. Expect them to be 1-2 after next weekend.

DLS what can be said here same ole DLS.

CVC seems to be trying to back into the open div by only playing 1 real team.(Pitt) A quick glance at their schedule makes me go Hmm. Why is Stellar Prep there? Followed by Concord, that push over NV team again etc.....their league is a cake walk would expect a better preseason schedule. Will a schedule like this be enough to get them out of the 4 seed even if they run the table?

If Pitt is one of the Open teams this year, and they may very well be even if they were to lose next week, it would be almost impossible for them to be seeded higher than CVC. If CVC gets an Open nod, even with a loss, they have a head to head win at Pirate stadium on their resume. Strength of schedule is an important ingredient, but it gets trumped by head to head. Now if Liberty runs the table and beats Pitt, they would likely be seeded higher than CVC based on SOS.

I understand how the head to head works. But let's be honest here should a Open team be scheduling teams that are basically bye weeks? And should they be rewarded if they do? Especially in a open bracket where the loser moves on. I think the their angle here is clear. They figured they might not beat Pitt so book a schedule of push overs to go 9-1 and have a shot at a SBG. Now they beat Pitt all be it in overtime, but have that cupcake schedule not befitting a open team. Either way I don't care have no dog in the fight it's just sad to see a team not challenge themselves and get rewarded.

I think the north should put all their top teams in one bracket and play it out. Winner goes open loser goes D1 rest go home.

Liberty is a good team but needs to run the tough BVAL table and really beat Pitt to win leaque. If it doesnt win the leaque, it cant go to Open. Granted Pitt wins league and CVC does too, then we'll need another league champ to get selected to open. How these 4 will be seeded is negotiable and decided by committee. Head to head is a factor but more weight shd be put on SOS. A clear head to head win with more than one TD margin is weightier than a close win with one TD margin in double O/T. The committee sees through all these and they'll decide who's more deserving. There's still lots of games and we just started so I think it is best to put these analysis aside first and lets play. A lot of things could happen.

Pretty much agree with you, though if Pitt and Clayton meet in the playoffs my money’s on the Pirates. No matter if Clayton is seeded higher.A motivated Pitt is a very very good team.

While Alhambra was taking their first varsity beating at Las Lomas, the JV's won 13-12 in a close one and the Freshman got by Wood 12-6 on Thursday.
The Bulldogs face College Park and more of the same may take place..

This is exactly what I thought would happen. A couple of key players got hurt. There best lineman and one of there linebackers. Why? Because daddy has not prepared them to play varsity football. JV and freshman won. But daddy will take care of that when they get to varsity. Daddy should be arrested for putting these kids in danger like that. At this point I go to the games just for the comedy of it. All time low in Bulldog country. Thanks daddy.
