I always enjoyed the jamboree at Pittsburg. Nice high vantage point in the stands and they always had hot dogs and waters for sale for us folks jetting straight there from work
Yeah, they had a great thing going with 4 of the top (if not the top 4) programs in NCS recently before now losing both Cal and DLS. It is still be great venue for the Jamboree and they still have a nice lineup of teams.
With DLS dropping out of the Jamboree, we have two new kids on the block to enter the four team battle.....Concord brings a air attack, led by Nick Nunez who passed for almost 1500 yards last season and has two recievers to watch in Alex Cruz and DeAndre Morgan...But here comes Moreau Catholic with the hard running of Jullen(Booda)Ison, built like a fire plug at 5-8 and 185, a tough customer to bring down and with a big line to open holes for him....MC also has a 9-1 JV team to fill any gaps made by grad, and in the playoff's, they gave Marin Catholic all they could handle in a 31-27 loss. Logan is a question mark, they did O.K. at the passing contest at Pittsburg, so here is a chance to see what they deliver for the 2016 season
And then there is Pittsburg, loaded with speed plus Montaz Thompson and three guys shooting for the QB spot, plus what looks like a strong line.....A lot of questions will be answered as all four teams adjust as the games go along, we have four different styles of football, so there will be a lot of testing also.
And what about the food, tri-tip Sandwiches, hot dogs just to name a few.....
More Pittsburg Jamboree.....Logan enters the Jamboree with a 7-4 record from last year with big losses to CVC 42-13 and DLS 57-14, plus a OT game wit Atascadero 28-27 and a playoff loss to California 15-14....The Colt's entering the passing contest in Pittsburg showed good speed and some size.
Moreau Catholic tied the Mission valley league with American of Fremont at 5-1, there only league loss was to American at 27-20...For the season MC went 11-2, MC's other loss was to Marin catholic 31-27 in the 3rd playoff game and a wild scoring spree of 70-34 over St. Mary's of Albany in the 2nd playoff game...
Concord wound up in 2nd place in the DVAL at 4-1 with their only league loss to CVC 42-22 and 10-4 for the season...The minutemen had three nastry losses to Wood of Vacaville 56-16, 34-12 to Deer Valley and of course 42-22 to CVC, but when it came time for the playoffs, the minutemen dropped a tight 23-22 game to CVC and the score was closer then one thinks...
Pittsburg went 4-1 in the BVAL league play and 10-3 for the season...For the preason, Pittsburg lost a see-saw 49-42 game to Monte Vista, but later in the playoff's the Pirates got revenge with a48-28 victory.
Pittsburg also dropped a 44-42 loss in the last league game of the season in one of the most thrilling games of the season, but in the playoff's DLS just jumped all over Pittsburg 70-14 in a ruthless victory.
So all things considered, Pittsburg should be the favorite in the Jamboree, but its a case of don't let your guard down, as the other three teams will be coming to play....
I dont get out to Pittsburgh often but did you say "billboard" ?? ...They have a billboard for the home opener..WOW, thats Texas style stuff, do they kids have lawn signs with naes and numbers in front of house? Jamboree sounds like a good one, it is Friday the 19th
Cal High has been doing the lawn sign thang for years. About two feet by two feet, not the giant ones like on Friday Night Lights.
Yes it is on big digital board but on the side going from Antioch to Pittsburg. I see it on my way to work but never on my way home. Don't know the reason why.
