First let me start of by saying, this is Sophie’s Choice for me.

Coach Marcus being a direct desendant of the BCT (aka Bennett Coaching Tree) & Coach Joey a self taught and players coach who has built TheR back to it’s dominance of old, from the Isola Era of the 80’s.

DeLa seems to take the air out of the ball with low possession with intense defense. While TheR pushes the pace in different offensive sets, and its defense is stifling, especially in shot blocking outside & in.

I don’t believe this is a chess match, but it is who establishes their pace and dominates the tenure for the game.

It would be too basic/unfair to say or Athleticism vs Fundamentals, because their is talent across the board on both sides in both of the listed skills. But these are very polar different programs and it will be interesting to see who prevails.

But as in Sophie’s Choice, I have to pick family first,….But the alternative isn’t a bad option to represent NorCal in the State Title match.

A challenge for the R since uptempo style will be mitigated by DLS ball control offense and stingy D...concerns for the R is staying out of foul trouble...executing in the half court and making FTs...

I got Riordan by double digits

Too much scoring power….too much depth…..homecourt advantage…..maybe the only advantage DLS has is on defense

Blair at 100% health would help, I’d say he’s about 80% at best right now, which means less minutes for him.

Agree 100% about the FTs. Making their FTs last night down the stretch was a huge factor in the Crusaders victory. Off memory ,Wrencher 4-4, Tofi 4-4 and Hellman 2-2 whereas Salesian struggled. Hopefully, Riordan will continue this FT shooting and it will help propel them to NorCal Open Champs.

Long time lurker here watched DLS many times this year and ARHS via stream. I think the game comes down to how Riordan is going to stop Blair's penetration and mid/inside game. Blair is the catalyst for DLS offense and is their press breaker, he has insane vision when bringing up the ball easily the reason they torched Salesian's D so easily in the NCS championship. Riordan is going to have to take care of the ball and not let TO's on top of the key turn into transition layups. Also take a look at which referee crew has the game when DLS played Salesian they manhandled them inside and on the boards. The 2 bigs for DLS while shorter than Emenke are big and wide definitely did not miss lift day and will play a physical style of ball hopefully Riordan bigs are up for the challenge. I don't think Riordan's depth will be that big an advantage as I doubt the players will be gassed playing on Riordan's smaller court (84') compared to what DLS played on vs Salesian. (94'). Predicting a win by Riordan by 5-6 even more if Blair is hobbled. The drive back across the Bay Bridge going to be a tough one Tuesday night.
