Well.. I guess a thread should be started for this wonderful week of basketball down in AZ...

Anyone know how the divisions are slotted? What is considered the top bracket, second bracket, etc?

The Vincent is the top bracket.

I watched most of the Sidwell vs SMS game.
1st...Sidwell is GIGANTIC... they start 4 girls 6'2 and taller..im guessing 6'2, 6'3, 6'3, 6'5 and have a couple more giants coming off the bench. They look like a D1 college team.
2nd...I want to give our SMS girls and coach Allie some major props as they went toe2oe with the #6 team(defending national champs?) in the country. I think it was tied or 1pt game at half before Sidwell came out in the 3rd and went on an early run to get up 8 or 9 and it looked like it was about to get out of hand. To their immense credit SMS came battling back and had the ball with less than a minute in the game down 2! An errant pass led to an easy fast break bucket and a questionable SMS offensive foul call led to the final tally.

I want to say that section rivalries, local rivalries and animosity are great and fun when our NorCal teams play each other and by all means root for and against your local squads BUT in a national tournament like this? I am ALL IN ON OUR NORCAL GIRLS WHOOPING ASS and will be heartily supporting all our norcal squads for the next 3 days. I was glad to see soo many teams win their 1st round games.

Oh! And btw... Morgan Cheli was NOT at the game yesterday for Mitty. Im not sure she even made the trip as I didn't see her on the bench. I was hoping she'd be back by this time (which makes their win over DV even more impressive).

I watched the 2nd half of the Mitty-Desert Vista game last night. Mitty did not press in the 2nd half nor did Morgan Cheli (#33) play in the game. I missed the 1st half because I forgot the one-hour time adjustment for MST.
The Monarchs made some clutch shots and free throws to pull away by 14.

I also watched the nitecap and the New York team won, 79-67. I doubt that AM can stay w/ them without Cheli.

looks like Mitty lost to Long Island Lutheran by about 20.

Yes-the game was not live streamed for some reason. I'm glad the Monarchs will not have to face Sidwell (DC)

CLET gets by Christ the King in a barn burner! Down 8 at half after a buzzer beating bank in 3 by CTK at the half. CLET comes out on fire with a big 3rd qtr and hung on down the stretch as CTK had 2 looks at 3s in the last 6 secs that missed and CLET got the hard fought 3 pt win.

Acalanes was out of their league vs Centennial (Nev) in their game. Down 14-0 4mins in to the 1st qtr. Acalanes was having issues even getting a shot off against the bigger/longer nationally ranked best team in Nevada. I left to go watch the CLET game that was playing at the same time.

CN vs Corona Centennial starts at 6pm.

As far as the question about bracket rankings/levels:

It looks like...

1. Vincent
2. John
3. Joe
4. Mike

I don't know what the "official" thinking is but IMO that's the correct ranking.

Down 15 late 3rd..made big run in 4th with a chance to tie (down 3) in final minute (2 different possessions) 1 poss was turnover, the other poss ended with a missed ft.

Archbishop Mitty Frosh McKenna Woliczko scored 30 points and had 13 rebounds in the win.

Joe was 2 and John was 3, per a friend of mine from Salesian.
