Drew Dalman (Palma) has signed a three year, $42 million deal with the Chicago Bears. He previously played for the Atlanta Falcons.

Aaron Banks (El Cerrito) signed a four year, $77 million deal with the Green Bay Packers. He was previously with the San Francisco 49ers

Drew also got $28 million guaranteed - the best part of it. He will be 2nd highest paid center. Known him since he was 12 and one of my nephew's best friends. My brother coached him in youth league. You could tell he had special technique and a high motor at a young age (helped his father was a pro center). He graduated with a Master's degree in Engineering from Stanford as well. Really smart and good young man. I also think he still drives the car he had in college. He should be well positioned after he leaves the league. Was hoping the 49ers signed him.

I know a lot of folks are talking about the 49ers losing all this personnel, but is it really worth signing Banks to a $77m contract or Hufanga $40+m or Ward $60m or Greenlaw $40+..that is a lot of money for people who have dealt with injuries and/or haven't put them over the top..look at KC..they have never had the most complete team but have beat us twice...we lost 2024 SB not because of Brock (he put us in a position to win)...but because the rest of the guys could't step up..and Coach Shannahan took his foot off the gas...i think the only one I feel might have been worth keeping is Greenlaw but at $15m a yr with his injury history..not so sure...if the 2024 draft hadn't been so strong, they might have thought otherwise...

To use a baseball reference..look at how much money the angels have put out year after year and have yet to go anywhere for quite sometime..the dodgers essentially bought the World Series last year with all their spending but the nfl can't do that
