My kid is presently working on an engineering project in Illinois and he texted that all the sports talk shows and news are saying UCLA has petitioned to move into the B1G Ten!?!?
Can't find anything here yet to confirm.
And we are several months past April 1st😱

Found an update. They are leaving in 2024 to join B1G Ten.
Most recent update says USC is going too, in 2024.

Pac-12 needs a plan. Rose Bowl needs a plan. I say fight fire with fire, you need more viewership for higher paying T.V. contracts. Then get creative and fill interest, I'm sure you like money too. I say go find two teams in any conference across the U.S., that has the backing and Interest to be top dogs in the conference. I would look at Virginia and North Carolina (look at numbers they would be very close compared to the So-Cal) University of Miami and Notre Dame. Big 10 wants to spread their presence, then so should the New Pac-16. I would try to add Nevada, San Diego State, SMU and maybe Wyoming, Idaho to fill the 16 team Conference. top 25 teams get better funding which equates to program. Go get it done. You are behind the eight ball and need to be creative or die.

Pac 12 is done. They had atrocious leadership the last 10 years and the pac 12 network was a massive failure. Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado, the Arizona schools and the Bay Area schools will be absorbed by the big 10 or big 12 in the next few years. Wazzou and the beavers probably end up in the mountain west.

Idaho Vandals doesn’t even have a D1 football program?
Population centers that are growing fast like Boise and State of Idaho can develop Football. The last school mentioned is more of a geographical potential based on population. If you look at what you can create you need to be open to all possibilities. This purely about money. Administrations can be replaced. Pac 12 Conference has awoken to a few runaways, does it mean their Brand is dead? I would invest in the alternative of 2 Large Conferences.

Well... One can look at this as the near-death of a conference, or you can view it the other way around.

Why would they take a school without FBS football ahead of say, Fresno State?

Fresno State Certainly should be considered. Those were some schools I could see as potentials. Likely other schools if they choose to grow what was the Pac12, looks like they might not try.

It’s not happening none of those schools get the Pac 10 a better TV deal which is what needed to save the conference
