With a 64-44 win on Wednesday night, Vanden earned a regular season split with Fairfield and gained sole possession of first place in the Solano County Athletic Conference.

It was a back and forth game for much of the first quarter with Vanden holding a 13-9 lead after eight minutes. A 10-1 run, spurred by senior Phoenix Shackelford, helped give the Vikings the edge going into the locker room up 29-20.

The second half was all Vikings starting with a 25-11 third quarter advantage. Vanden led by as many as 27 points before posting a 20 point win.

Shackelford, Aaron Porcil and Devin Times were in double figures over the Vikings.

Fairfield won the first meeting 74-71. The 44 points scored on Wednesday is the third lowest output this season for the Falcons following 35 (Oak Ridge) and 40 (De La Salle).
