Walker Lyons from Folsom Injured

My sources on the trinity league forums have reported that he suffered broken leg tonight and may be out for the season.

Hope the young lad heals quick and that the rumors are not true. I hope Folsom can still pose a challenge to Serra San Mateo and coach Walsh next week. If Folsom is as good as they say they are, they should have some depth like the TL teams do.

The injury was obviously significant, unfortunately. It happened on a fairly routine play near the Monterey Trail sideline. No one wants to see kids hurt and he received a lengthy round of applause in support from the MT fans, players, and coaching staff. We all are hoping for a speedy and full recovery.

I first briefly tuned into this game just as he was being carted off the field. No commentary and no context as to what had happened. Terrible news.

Having suffered a broken fibula during the 6th game of my senior season, I’m especially empathetic.

Good news is, Lyons will be playing at the next level so his football career won’t be marred by the memory of this being his final game.

Yeah, really sucks. I was at game and you knew it was bad right away. It’s better than a knee injury and he’s young.
TE they will Not have an issue replacing. I believe the backup has d1 offers and is a heck of a player. (Mason Noreberg)

Folsom has major issues defensively. MT moved the ball far to easily at times last night. Reminds me of the old Folsom teams that had great offensive lines, QB, Skilled players , etc.., but lacked the defensive side. Look for Serra and DLS to send a strong message.

The Young QB looks good for Folsom. In the Pocket he can make all the throws. Next week will be a real test.

I really feel like the unfortunate injury took some of the intensity out of the game. It puts things in perspective and makes a person introspective. I know that the MT side was upset by it, especially on such a routine play. I can only imagine how upset the teammates, coaches, friends, and family of Walker Lyons are feeling today. Thoughts, prayers, and best wishes to the young man.

Agreed. You never want to see that. And that’s a big setback. You don’t replace a kid like that.
